My laptop was supposed to have my keyboard fixed and a new battery added. Things were broken on my laptop when I picked it up. Additionally, Luke the Manager wasn't going to notify me of items I forgot in/with the laptop and when I asked him about this he replied "it's not our responsibility," and laughed. When I relayed to him my computer was now broken he tried to charge me more to fix it and said it was a coincidence that it was now broken. I notice the reviews and it seems like this happens often. Also, he used super glue on my laptop, and kept saying that was my only choice for other problems with my laptop instead of finding parts or ordering parts. Now I have to find somewhere else to go so that they can fix the damage Luke the Manager at Computer Mechanics did.
Regarding the "Owner's" Google Response:
The response from the "Owner” if not Luke, goes to show how unprofessional this business is. They have no right to try to disclose personal information about me. It is unnecessary and unprofessional in how they chose to word there reply. That additional problem that the "owner" speaks of was one that they had caused and they know it! That part of my laptop was working perfectly before they touched my laptop. Now, I have to go somewhere else to get if fixed all over again. They call this a good deed?
To clarify on what the "owner" said about the items forgotten, there were actually 2 items that I am speaking of, an SD card and and HDMI cord. I do have a medical condition, however, regardless of having a medical condition or not they should have told me my SD card was still at the shop. They let me leave the shop with my laptop, and they still had my SD card, which was inside my laptop when I first brought it in. They never called me about it, and there reasoning behind this was because I was coming back eventually whenever they received the battery that they ordered for my laptop. They thought of something to say to me fast... The same thing happened with the hdmi cord, however, due to "Luke" the manager making me feel uncomfortable by being unprofessional, on top of my physical problems I forgot my cord there, and again I did not receive a call. I was in a knee brace and I had my young nephew with me waiting there for a very avoidable amount of time, but "Luke" the manager did not care about what he could actually see with his own eyes. They know I am not lying about any of this.
They are not the "BBB," they know nothing of me nor my past, and it is unsettling for them to try to say that they do. Furthermore, they cannot make claims, accusations, and speak with such absoultions on behalf of the "BBB." I have no reason to lie about anything, but of course an unprofessional "business" would try to deny any wrong doing on their part. I think it is childish in nature, and a waste of time to argue with any adults that engage in this type of careless behavior, especially since I am suffering from physical health conditions. I guess the owner is a doctor too, who knows....
Read moreWent in to get my daughter a computer for school. She is a middle school girl and isn't careful so I thought I'd go budget. You get what you pay for. Computer was incredibly slow, like slug slow, and took 45 minutes to get from turn on to mouse movement. Took it back three days later and told him I wanted to return. Was told "due to nature of computers, returns are not allowed, and I should have thought about it before I bought."
So I got store credit instead. That's when I really looked around, the store is trapped in the computer 90's. No external hard drives, no wireless headsets, no gaming accessories, no video cards, no nothing . . . on display anyway. Must be a constant problem for them because when I complained further and inquired if they had anything he offered to make the computer faster at no charge this time . . . why not have it usable to begin with?!
I ended grabbing the only Chromecast and a few other things and even the Chromecast is mislabeled and not the same one as is supposed to be in the box! What should I do? Next time open the box you resealed in your store and think about it before I buy? I'm sure that would have gone over well. Whatever not worth talking to Luke again. Rude and not confident enough to look you in the eye to back his own "policy". Tried to go small business, guess I'll stick with...
Read moreMy Dell laptop was on the floor when my place flooded. I brought it here in hopes that the memory/hard drive could be recovered and put onto my external hard drive. He was very pleasant and professional. They offer an external hard drive or memory stick if you don't already own one. He was very clear with his communication and warned me about the possibility of not being able to recover anything. Unfortunately, my laptop had too much damage and nothing could be recovered. He was nice enough to not charge me anything because of that. If he had been able to recover something it would've been $80, so it was very nice to not have to pay $80 and not have anything recovered. I'm grateful for his time and energy for checking and trying. Overall a great experience with this business, even though my laptop couldn't be fixed. He does offer additional services/parts for replacement but I have a warranty on my laptop still that will cover the parts needed, so I didn't need to go through him...
