I love the fact that there is a mall still in Yuba City and I really hope for all of those who enjoy going to the mall here that we all band together due to all the stores that are closing at the mall and we make sure that this mall doesn't end up closing. Over the past 30 years I have seen so many malls closed because of no retailers taking up any of the spots inside of the malls because of location or because of past history and not selling whatever the reasons maybe we need to push as hard as we can as a community to get stores that are increasingly popular in this mall so that we can get more business in the small as a community. I love how clean this mall is and I love that they have the options for the kids to go to the arcade they have the options for the kids to ride on the stuffed animal things that have wheels you can pay and they ride around. Basically I love that the mall is so family-oriented and I love that there's even a mall in Yuba City still and like I said the inevitable is going to happen with all the clothes stores in the Yuba City Mall where the mall finally says hey we don't have enough money from all of our people leasing so we're going to have to shut down so we really need to help them all as a community by researching popular small businesses that you would normally see like Bath & Body Works and American Eagle and Hollister...that aren't currently in the mall so that we can reach out to those businesses that are growing in popularity that aren't in our mall but are in many other malls in half thousand of other locations throughout the United States are Beyond and we need to send them emails to tell them they need to open a location at our mall so that we can get more places in our mall now there's not a lot of locations and stores that are opening up because of the way our economy is based on online but there are few such as Amazon Prime has been opening some stores Google has even been opening some stores I personally think if we reached out to them and told them to open personal stores here in Yuba City they would see an influx of sales that would be exponential because everyone loves Amazon everyone loves Google everyone loves apple and if we had all three of those competing stores inside the Yuba City Mall I think our overall sales in that mall and overall leasing structure wood increase exponentially overall and we would see a huge increase in our economy and Yuba City because of how many people would come from Chico...

Found plushie dolls for granddaughters marked 75% off, no price on item. Item was in a bin. Price read $39.99 on the bin. Seemed a good deal and I would need 2 for autistic twins. After the twins each picked theirs out we took them up to the register. The girl at the register pointed out that the 75% off brought the plushee down to $39.99/each not that they were 75% off of $39.99. Apparently I wasn't the only one who had been misinterpreting the signage.
Granddaughters were heartbroken that I had to put the plushies back. Before we left I took pics of the plushies. Later that night I did a photo search for them and found them at temu for $29.99/each and not on sale.
What? Were they actually selling these plushies for $159.99 each at this mall in Yuba City, CA? I'm betting "not". That must be why they had a bin full of these things "on sale".
We continued our now fast paced window shopping as we picked up our Bath & Body order and left only buying a few little things from the clearance rack at Claire's (hair bobs & costume jewelry).
As a business owner myself I understand having to set prices based on the cost of running a business and all the overhead that goes into it plus having enough leftover to pay the bills at home. Figuring all of that based on the prices I saw the rents at the Yuba Sutter Marketplace are based on big city incomes, not those of our small midway point between 2 big cities, incomes.
If you're a tourist from a big California city maybe $160 for a plushie toy is normal but, NOT in our farming community....
Read moreYUBA SUTTER MALL, YUBA CITY: The front opening of the mall is attractive and I think it beckons people to come in. It did me. The colors are great, too. I also have entered the mall from the back side, especially when I wanted to go to Strings to eat. Some of the shops inside are really great--that's why I give 4 stars because of those shops--they deserve the stars. MY NUMBER ONE SHOP: SUNGLASS HUT: You can see in the picture my husband and I are sporting new sunglasses from Sunglass Hut (mine were a Mother's Day gift, his I gave him for an early Father's Day gift last year). We come every 1-2 years to buy new sunglasses, Revos and Maui Jims. Next. I use to love Strings food. But those in charge of the upkeep never kept up with it. Strings started looking dingy and dirty and I just couldn't eat there any more, even if I liked the food. I couldn't sit and look around at the dirt and grime and the dirty floor. The really sad part about the mall are the empty stores. I would like to encourage all Yuba and Sutter County residents and even visiters to patronize the mall to keep stores open, especially as the summer and fall come upon us. Keep the stores open, don't...
