All these negative reviews are bogus. They have no idea what theyâre talking about. The owner/workers were nice, greeted me, and best of all, SUPER fair when it came to prices and negotiating when i wanted to trade in my old 3ds for a ânewâ 3ds XL. The Owner (i asume he was the owner) offered me $250 store credit for my old 3ds zelda 25th anniversary zelda edition and physical copy of pokemon alpha sapphire. He also offered cash $180 but he said i could get more in store credit. I was shocked. $250??! For this old system!? (it was in great condition to be fair) but still, $250? Are you not trying to run a business!? I couldnât believe it! The ânewâ 3ds XL they sold me was $299.90, Amazing deal considering itâs refurbished, i got to touch and feel and test it before sealing the deal, and a 90 day warranty all included. Now keep in mind, People like me are going to mod this 3ds so him offering $250 store credit for my old system that i wanted to upgrade made my life. Never going to gamestop again. If youâre trading in your old games, you gotta go to Gamer-life. I also traded in my old switch lite that i got my daughter who never touched it for $100 store credit. FB marketplace theyâre selling them for as low as $70 in fair condition, mine was in good condition but nonetheless i was very satisfied in my trade in offers store credit wise. Of course their cash offer was lower but it still beat gamestop by a MILE. Donât listen to these fake reviews. I walked in and was greeted with a fist bump and smile. I still have $68 in store credit that iâm exited to use. This store is AWESOME 10/10 my new 3ds xl is beautiful!! He even let me have the case it came in because it was his wifeâs old one he just put into inventory so that gave me even more confidence knowing the device came from an adult and the wife of a retro video game store owner lol. He also let me know of an event theyâre having a retro game swap meet which i hope to make but my wifeâs baby shower lands on the same weekend so ill see if i can make time. Awesome store, friendly people, great prices. All these reviews saying their prices are too high are honestly just broke idiots and the gaming community needs to do better in helping out a local business. I will for sure be back they gained a loyal customer. I wasnât even going to leave a review or anything but after reading all this slander on a local business i had to share my 10/10 experience. Donât listen to these betas, gamer life, keep going strong you guys...
Read moreI had an absolutely dreadful experience at this card shop. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the customer service was not a priority. The employees were rude and dismissive, barely acknowledging my presence as I browsed through their shelves. When I asked a few basic questions about the products they carried, I was met with condescending responses, as if I was wasting their time.
But the worst part came when I noticed the prices. This place is ridiculously overpricedâby a lot. I understand that some shops mark up their products, but this was borderline extortion. The prices on their cards were easily 30-40% higher than any other store or online marketplace, and when I inquired about why they were so expensive, the employee gave me a vague and unconvincing excuse. When I asked for a price match or any sort of discount, I was met with eye rolls and outright lies. The employee tried to tell me that the higher price was justified because their cards were âhand-selectedâ and âauthentic.â I'm pretty sure thatâs just a fancy way of saying, âWe charge whatever we want because we can.â
To make matters worse, the owner (or maybe the manager?) was even more arrogant when I confronted them about the pricing. They told me that âpeople like meâ wouldnât understand the value of quality cards and that I should âjust stick to buying onlineâ if I didnât want to pay premium prices. As if that wasnât bad enough, when I politely asked for a return policy (in case the cards I was buying werenât as described), they flat out lied to me, saying they had a no-questions-asked return policy. Of course, when I tried to return an item the next day, they gave me the runaround, claiming that their policy was actually more complicated and I couldnât return anything unless it was unopened.
In summary, this card shop is a scam. The prices are a ripoff, the staff is rude and unprofessional, and they have zero regard for customer satisfaction. I left feeling completely taken advantage of and swore I would never come back. There are plenty of other card shops out there that offer fair pricing and treat their customers with respect. Avoid this place at all costsâsave yourself the frustration...
Read moreI recently visited a so-called "retro video game store," and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. First off, the store's owner seemed to know very little about the games they were selling. I was hoping to get some help identifying a few rare titles, but the owner could barely provide any useful information, offering vague responses when asked about certain games or consoles.
it also didnt help that almost none of the games had prices and if you ask they look up an arbitrary value on ebay. diffrent to the same game everytime you ask. so if i walk in monday they say a gameboy is 150$ the next day itll be 160$ ? what kind of price gouging is that.
the store owner attemped to claim the games were worth so much cause he graced it with his mighty hands. as if him fixing it made the original xbox worth 70$ more than the market value.
To make matters worse, the pricing was absurd. The store was charging nearly double what most retro games typically go for, even for well-known, common titles. It was clear that the owner was attempting to take advantage of customers who weren't familiar with the market. For example, a copy of Super Mario World for the SNES was priced at $80âfar above the average going rate. I understand the occasional markup for rarity or condition, but there was no justification for such high prices on basic games in decent condition.
The store itself was disorganized, with games scattered all over the place in no particular order. It was difficult to find anything, and the overall atmosphere felt unprofessional and chaotic. The ownerâs lack of enthusiasm or passion for the products they were selling was also evident. It seemed like a business solely focused on making a quick profit, rather than providing a true service for retro gaming enthusiasts.
I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. If youâre looking for quality retro games, there are many other stores and online retailers that offer better prices, selection, and customer service. This store simply isnât worth your...
