Perfect spot to launch a kayak and then paddle down Eagle Creek all the way to the reservoir, which can be done if the water levels are high enough. For others considering the trip, I'd recommend water levels at least 2 feet according to the USGS Eagle Creek Zionsville gauge. The river was pretty clear of fallen trees all the way down or at least with easy detours around. The trickiest spots were the stone "j-hook" barriers at two different spots in Starkey Park and then a bit of fallen trees around 86th street.

the winding row of advertising posts here is a repulsive addition to this otherwise gorgeous park. people come to these sorts of places to avoid this precise thing. still, five stars, as i begrudgingly retain my love for my hometown despite the increasing erosion of its quiet simplicity to the superficial values of suburban, upper middle class life.

There is a nice little play area for kids and a great walking path

This is kind of a quiet park with a nice paved walking path around it and a small shelter. There really isn't much of a playground for kids (just a very small area), but there is a community garden and some large open fields if you are looking for...
