Read moreThey made us wait for more than half an hour in the entrance, telling us there would be a table available if we wait. After that time they said restaurant was full and they needed to close at 4, so we should find another place to eat at 15:30. Was even worse for another couple who was before us and they had made a phone reservation and they came to this place specifically because there had booked it. Falta de profesionalidad tremenda. No se puede dejar tirada a la gente de esta manera.
Edit after owner's response:
You are NOONE to call me lier. What I exposed was absolutely true. My partner entered the restaurant at 15:00. Talked to your mum, and she told her (one hour before closing) to wait outside, as we would be sitted as soon as a table was free. It was NOT RAINING at that time, we entered inside the reception because there where many people asking for a table but we were first. It started raining at 15:15 more or less, when we were already inside, and it was the group after ours who entered because of the rain. You told us to go as you would close the restaurant at 15:30, after half an hour of wait, and it was STILL RAINING, so NO, THE RAIN WAS NOT THE REASON, as we left the place immediately to find another place. The couple who made the reservation came to me as we left the place, telling me I expressed exactly what they were thinking, that you cannot make people wait if you're not able to attend them. They told me they came to the restaurant specifically because they had made a phone resrvation. I didn't yell anybody, I just expressed my opinion. And of course I'm not listening your arguments as YOU ARE NOT RIGHT. No argument is valid for making people wait when you...
Read moreQuite possibly the best moussaka you will ever have in your life. I don’t know what else I can say. Everything else we ordered was incredibly delicious too, but their moussaka (a family recipe) absolutely stole the show. We’re now planning how to fit this place in again before we leave tomorrow, but don’t you worry, we will.
UPDATE Moussaka Round 2:
As promised, we adjusted our schedule to ensure we came back the very next night for what some have called the GOAT of moussakas.
I wised up and ordered two this time since I only got a mere sampling of yesterday’s single order which was thoroughly enjoyed by my beautiful wife :)
Again, this 2nd round of moussaka was absolutely delicious! Took better pics this time to showcase the luscious layering of flavours with just the right balance of nutmeg and spices. It was vegetarian too and as a meat eater myself, I didn’t even notice which speaks to how good this moussaka really is.
Berat is a beautiful UNESCO heritage site worth visiting all on its own, but I would have come here just for the moussaka alone; it’s just...
