Read more6 stars. One of the best for me in Berat and Albania. The words mean Old Man in Albanian. It's a beautiful stone structure almost like a medieval chapel.
Its located on top on the mountain. Cash only but atm is right there.
Ordered fergese which is peppers and cream cheese and qofte which is minced meat balls.
They had raki and skenderbeu cognac. The waiter was excellent. Super English and can speak Italian Spanish German and Albanian too. Owner was present and gave free raki one shot.

Read moreWhile on holiday our car broke down in the gateway entrance to the castle, on the steepest slope. We caused traffic chaos, it was embarrassing and stressful. The wonderful host from this bar (kristi?) helped us out, somehow manoeuvring the car back down, helping us find somewhere to leave it to be recovered, explaining to everyone our situation when we couldn’t and helping us to make calls to the hire car company. He was kind, helpful and his service was invaluable to us. Buying a few beers from him later didn’t really express our appreciation...
