Came here in January, and noticed how many places to eat were closed. DIdn't have any local tips at the time, but stumbled across this one. Guardian has done a raving review on them and we thought we're check them out too. Was not disappointed. We went on a quiet afternoon had a few nibbles, like meatballs, stuffed peppers, burek. All were very well priced, and very tasty. Special shoutout to the meatballs - supremely well flavoured. He let us try his homemade raki which was silky smooth - had a really good taste to it. Bashkim, the owner treated us with great hospitality that day. The first time we went we realised we couldn't order the Tave kosi unless we ordered ahead, so we locked it in for lunch the next day. When we came around the next day, he even made sure we didn't have to pay the castle entrance fee again, and welcomed us with open arms to an AMAZING tave kosi. lamb was literally perfect, and the flavours were all wonderful. Of course, all the ingredients are from neighbouring ƒarms. He let us try some of his home made red wine from the grapes not far away - this was a great choice to go with the tave kosi. We ended up buying one of his bottles for a measly 1000lek. We walked away extremely satisfied. Highly recommend to call up before hand to get...
Read moreThis place was the end of a guided tour! They try, but they have to try to improve even more! The location is where it is and the choice of places to eat is limited! That's probably what makes the business go around!
The food came out not so warm, except for the lamb! But on the other hand the lamb was not so good, mostly bone and fat! The white house wine tasted like fox poison! Recommend the bottled beer instead! The rest of the food itself was ok, with the exception of the lamb dish!
The staff happy and pleasant and accommodating! The advantage here, however, is that the food is affordable and good prices! I don't want to advise against eating here, but you should choose carefully from the menu and be on the safe side! A piece of advice for this place....you are in a wonderful place! Try to raise the food quality a notch, if nothing else for your own...
Read morethis is an excellent place with a very friendly Att. The food is very good, it looks better than in the photo. The prices are not more expensive than in the rest of the city and they have an excellent view with a very nice terrace. You don't feel pressured to consume anything and you even feel bad about how well they treat you and how cheap their dishes are and their service is better than in a five-star restaurant.
The best food ever!!!
This is a note after have been eating here, they have the best fresh food ever. I try it in Albania. The owner of the restaurant has a farm in which he produces everything that he uses in the restaurant. Incredible place to eat. You can never tell when you are walking up or passing bye, but is “a must...
