A Culinary Gem in Palermo: Hierro Blends Grill Rusticity with Elegance
My experience at Hierro, a high-end grill restaurant, was truly unforgettable. The establishment lives up to its name not only with elegant, iron-based decor but also by paying tribute to the essential element of every classic grill. Here, iron and fire unite in perfect symbiosis to offer a culinary experience that melds the rusticity of a grill with an atmosphere of refinement.
The atmosphere at Hierro is a masterpiece in interior design, blending elegance with a rustic touch. The place is superbly decorated, with meticulous attention to detail evident in each element, from the walls to the furniture. One of the highlights is its internal terrace, an enclosed space that offers a tranquil oasis amidst urban hustle. Moreover, the grill is always in plain sight, adding a theatrical culinary element to the experience. Yet, the crown jewel is undoubtedly the VIP section, featuring polished iron-base sofas mixed with leather, polished iron tables, and panoramic views of both the bustling restaurant and lively Coatarica Street. The atmosphere is completed by the warm luminosity emanating from a wood-burning hearth, amid stacks of firewood that contribute to a cozy and sophisticated ambiance.
The service at Hierro is exemplary friendly, attentive, and unhurried, making it an ideal setting for business meetings. From the moment you sit down until you say goodbye, you feel taken care of yet never rushed a rare balance to find in the world of high-end gastronomy.
The culinary offerings at Hierro are, in a word, superlative. Each dish is a revelation in itself. The hand-cut empanadas have perfect dough. The heart sweetbreads are degreased and crispy on the outside but melt in your mouth. The New York Strip Milanese and the griddled flank steak are exceptional, but the real star is the 45-day aged ribeye that weighs more than a pound; eating it was a true sensory pleasure. And if you still have room for dessert, the bread pudding and dulce de leche crepes are simply delicious.
I've had the chance to dine at most of the grills in Palermo, but Hierro made me feel the unique quality of a homemade "Asado" combined with the glamour of a fine restaurant. There are many places that receive a lot of media attention and have long waiting hours, but Hierro is a hidden gem that surpasses all of them in every aspect. I went once and liked it so much that I returned the next day for a business meeting and even considered changing my flight ticket just to dine there again. In summary, Hierro is not just a restaurant; it's an incomparable...
Read moreMy fiancé and I had an absolutely delightful experience at Hierro Parrilla Palermo. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our main waiter, Pablo, and secondary waiter, Sebastian, provided exceptional service throughout the evening, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. We started off with some cocktails which were better than every cocktail bar we’ve been to in the city.
The food was simply exquisite. We started with the grilled chorizo and bread with lemon butter, which were both bursting with flavor. The t-bone steak was cooked to perfection, and the mushroom empanada was a delightful surprise. The side of grilled carrots with a poached egg was a unique and tasty combination, and the crispy layered potato and cheese was a delightful indulgence. The pasta was also perfectly cooked with the delicious kick of blue cheese and the crunch from walnuts.
To top off our wonderful meal, we were treated to complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate our recent engagement. This thoughtful gesture truly made our meal even more special. You absolutely must get the dulce de leche lava cake.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also noteworthy, with its well-lit and inviting atmosphere while having dark accents to make you feel like you were in a steakhouse. Overall, Hierro Parrilla Palermo exceeded our expectations in every way possible. We cannot wait to come back and suggest anyone to visit when in...
Read moreWhile roaming in San Telmo market we randomly chose this place for a beer. After looking at the menu I ordered a steak and my friend asked for a Lamb Sausage on the plate. The waitress Ms Annerys has a very sweet smile and served with great zeal. One small incident which happened here while eating was so unexpected and unique it had never happened before and deserved a special mention here. My friend left more than half of the sausage uneaten in the place and we asked for the cheque. The waitress Ms Annerys asked my friend why he didn’t finish the sausage. He said he didn’t like it as it was a bit raw from inside . She want back to the cashier and brought a revised cheque deleting the cost of sausage of 9900 pesos. We were completely surprised by this gesture as we had not complained about the sausage at all. I thought we must tell this story to fellow travelers as it speaks volumes about the high standards of this restaurant. By the way, while we were eating here, the famous blogger Mr William of The Best Ever Food Review was filming his review of their famous and award winning cheese dish. I must make special mention of Annereys and Candela who were exceptional in their warmth and care while serving us and revised the bill on their on volition which...
