An absolutely fantastic location close to buses and the Subte. Walking distance from San Telmo and other landmarks. The woman who works there is fantastic, she's so lovely. We don't speak Spanish and she doesn't speak English but she was very patient with us and our Google Translate. She scrubs the kitchen and bathrooms clean every morning, it's spotless, and halfway through our first stay we were given fresh towels and linen. She also offered to clean our room during our stay. Early check in is accommodated where possible but of course, if there's someone in the room it's not always doable. The kitchen is functional and has everything you need. We stayed here twice and would definitely come back. Rooms are fan cooled so it can get a but stuffy when it's really hot but we just turned the fan up and used earplugs to block the...
Read moreWe had made a booking online which was confirmed with check-in time between 2300-2400. We departed early morning from Chile and arrived at Ezeiza in the evening. We arrived at EL Pibe at around 2310. The lady which received us informed us that there was no room available at 11 in the evening. It was raining and we had no Internet on the phone so she reluctantly let us stay to find an alternative which obviously was very difficult on a Saturday evening. The treatment we received was rude and not forthcoming. Luckily we found a different place. I frequently come to Buenos Aires and in the past used local accommodations and will recommend anyone to rather do that instead of going to El Pibe. In addition 200 USD to basically stay in a hostel with shared bath room is not...
Read moreThis is a homespun type of place close to the centre of Buenos Aires that has the advantage over most hotels of having cooking facilities for guest's use (about a dozen gas rings.) Toilets and showers are shared facilities. The kitchen, like some of the rooms, is quite compact. All of the hotel is kept spotlessly clean. Rooms have their own keys and the hotel has it's own first floor entrance (there is an elevator but I never saw it used), the ground floor entrance onto the street is shared with a letting agency and floors above and it was the key to this door that I found really awkward to use, often I waited for someone else to be opening it or hoped to find it...
