Not knowing Buenos Aires at all, we found this hotel on Trip Advisor. It was everything the reviews said it was. This is a clean, secure, beautiful, contemporary style, 5 level property in the heart of historic Monserrat. It is located close to San Telmo and Avenida 9 de Julio. The reception desk made city tour reservations, which included a pick up from the hotel. We had some trouble with our travel itinerary before arriving. When we called to make a last minute change they happily accommodated us (thank you Brian). We ended up adding an additional night with them because they were so nice about it and cancelled our other hotel reservation made prior. Breakfast was nice and so were the morning attendants. We encountered polite staff and attentive service. What the hotel did not offer in amenities, they well made up for in service. They do lack some of the essential items such as a business center, working outlets in the rooms, microwaves in the rooms, pillow choices, wifi stability, and better food choices at their restaurant/bar. However what stood out the most at this property were the staff. I would especially like to make special mention of Dario and Eduardo at the front desk reception who were exceptionally welcoming, personable and accommodating. They provided us with adaptors for US plugs, directions, maps, and great dining suggestions and made pleasant conversation with us. We stayed 6 days and became very familiar with them. With the exception of a couple of the female bar attendants and doormen service was above average accommodating. Thank you for a most memorable stay. Be sure to dine at La Brigada Steakhouse and close taxi...
Read moreWe stayed here for six nights in March 2018, in a Senior room, which was spacious, quiet, clean and with good water pressure in the shower. However, our stay was marred by a booking mix up.||We arrived at 11pm, after our flight from Iguazu Falls had been delayed by several hours. No one on the reception desk spoke English. The receptionist could not find our booking, pointing only to a cancelled booking I had made previously. I repeatedly showed him the receipt and booking confirmation from hotels.com, but he seemed uninterested in looking this up in the system, and treated us with suspicion. Rather than offering us a room and suggesting we sort out in the booking in the morning, since it was almost 11:30pm at this point, he instead kept us waiting while he made a 10 minute phone call, presumably to the manager. Eventually he did offer us a room, which ended up being the smallest available, rather than the Senior room we had paid for. In the morning when we went down to reception, there was an English speaking attendant that was able to assist us, finding our 'lost' booking and checking us into the correct room. No compensation was offered for their mistake and rude treatment the night before, and in fact the hotel refused to reimburse us the difference between the Senior room we had paid for on the first night and the small room we were given. It is very unfortunate that the night receptionist did not seem to have the correct training to use the booking system, nor a customer...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel just after Christmas 2017 with our friends. ||||Hotel room was beautiful and super clean. The cleaning lady even gave us every single day new bathroom amenities, which is not so common in every hotel. ||||The breakfast choice was not a big one, but enough for us. ||||We also felt very safe. The hotel has a gate and only lets his guest in after certain time at night. ||||What I was missing a bit, was that you dont get any info unless you ask for. I mean, no offer for sightseeings, map or so. Yes, we got all requsted info and maps after we asked, but to me it seems they do not promote their town at all. Which is a pity. ||They also did not know where to get stamps for postcards. Why not in the hotel? We were sent to many stores around, but they sell postcards, but not stamps. And no one knew where they sell them. Isn't it weird? I was in about 20 stores. I was only able to buy them at the aiport finally.||||However, the big plus is, that the reception in the hotel speaks perfect English. ||||Overall, this hotel was the best of hotels in the South America we stayed in. ||||Btw, beware of La Brigada Steakhouse restaurant...
