Where do I even begin?!?!||We recently spent 10 days in Argentina from the end of October 2024 through the beginning of November 2024 for our honeymoon and stayed at The Four Seasons Hotel in Buenos Aires during that time. Located in the Recoleta neighborhood surrounded by various museums, historical landmarks restaurants, and shopping boutiques all in walking distance, this hotel was an excellent "home base" for us getting around the city, and for simply relaxing to enjoy our honeymoon.||We checked in after spending a total of 14 hours in the air, first from Miami to New York City, then from New York City down to Buenos Aires. This was actually our first ever stay at a Four Seasons branded property, so we weren't sure what to expect. We were congratulated by the Front Desk staff right away for our marriage and celebrating our subsequent honeymoon with them. They were extremely thorough in getting us maps for our use. and printing out the itinerary I had made with their concierge for the week ahead, including a tour and several restaurant reservations we had.||There was a small snag with our Mansion View King Room and the staff offered to change us to another room that they were getting ready. In the meantime, they held our luggage while we were able to enjoy the pool on a warm Buenos Aires day. The pool area itself was very nice with plenty of staff members around, eager to help with pool chair and umbrella service. The outdoor pool at The Four Seasons is one of the few, if not the only, outdoor hotel pool areas in the city. There was plenty of sunscreen and water stations for us to use, and the pool itself was a very comfortable size.||After about 2 hours, our new room was ready. We were informed that we were being moved to a Mansion View Junior Suite with E-Lounge access. Honestly, this change/upgrade exceeded even our wildest expectations! This wasn't something we were looking for when the staff acknowledged the issue our original room had, and has made us Four Seasons fans for life. The Junior Suite itself (Room 809) was spacious. We had a nicely laid our living room area that divided the living area from the sleeping area. Don't even get me started on those Four Seasons beds-- probably the best sleep either of us ever had in our life! The bathrooms are nicely appointed and also included a TV in the mirror (a first for me).||The E-Lounge area was our go-to spot for breakfast. Every morning, they carried a variety of fresh fruits, coffee, fruit juices, pastries, and yogurts. In the late afternoon, they switched their offerings out for little sandwiches and wraps, snack bites like chips, charcuterie, and were always stocked with a bottle of red and white wine for visitors to enjoy. It also had a very nice outdoor balcony with a seating area to enjoy views out to Recoleta.||Dinner at Elena was FANTASTIC (more on that in a separate review), and the service was exemplary and arguably the best we've experience at any hotel so far. They helped us understand how to best get around (Uber is very easy to use in Argentina) and other pointers on where to eat and other points of interest. Most places in Recoleta and Palermo either have some sort of public wifi or have easy access to a cafe or bar where you can connect to order your ride share.||Although we were very excited to check out Patagonia, we were very sad to leave the Four Seasons Buenos Aires. We had a very fulfilling 4 day stay that also somehow did not feel like enough because of how well we were taken care of.||As I said before, this was our first stay at a Four Seasons hotel, and now we are customers/believers for life! Should it make sense on future travels, they will be our hotel of choice. And certainly in Buenos Aires, they made an impression on us that will last a lifetime! Thank you, Charo Muro, Gianlucca Casazza, Milagros Araujo, and so many others for making our honeymoon stay so relaxing...
Read moreOur digs for four nights in Buenos Aires was here at the Four Seasons, formerly a Park Hyatt hotel.
ATMOSPHERE: The hotel features a single mid-rise tower and a detached high-end mansion with a separate entry. The lobby houses the registration/concierge desk, the restaurant Elena and bar Pony Line. Up on level 2 are the heated outdoor pool, spa and gym. The room hallways are the most elegant I've seen yet, a mix of black walls, mirrors and ambient lighting.
CHECK IN: Male worker was very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel wasn't legally allowed to exchange money, but a card-safe ATM was located in a room behind the front desk.
Bellman brought up our bags and showed us the room's features.
ROOM: We got a room on floor 7 which is their "club level". A common room with an outdoor balcony just off the elevators featured soft drinks and water 24/7 with light snacks in the afternoon.
Our room had a comfy king bed but uncomfy flat pillows. The windows swung open for fresh air while blackout drapes kept us in bed longer. There were a few English language channels on TV. The a/c had a finicky thermostat that wouldn't move from its 21°C setting. The closet was big and almost walk-in-like. They provided two power adapters for Type A plugs. WiFi was free and strong throughout the property.
The spacious bathroom had just a single basin but featured a soaking tub, glass shower and separate water closet with bidet. Water temperature in the shower was controlled and couldn't/wouldn't get past warm.
SERVICE: We bought a bottle of champagne from the duty free store and needed it iced. The housekeeper was nice enough to set it up for us while we went out for a bit.
RESTAURANTS: We dined at Elena's for breakfast, lunch and dinner, where I have a separate review. The best T-bone steak resides here!!
Pony Line gets busy on Friday & Saturday nights with BA's youngens even if they don't have a dance floor/club. See separate review.
TIPS: There are about 8 restaurants a short stroll from the hotel under the freeway overpass. We dined at El Mirasol where they have delish empanadas.
Uber is illegal in BA but still operates. On one occasion, the driver and I couldn't connect so we ended up taking a taxi which was affordable. For safety, be sure to use only taxis with phone numbers posted on the vehicle's roof.
The hotel is within walking distance to the Recoleta cemetery and Hard Rock Cafe.
OVERALL: Central location, terrific service,...
Read moreYou won’t find better accommodations in the city! I have stayed at many Four Seasons, but I’ve never ever experienced the level of service that Agustin and the team at this Four Seasons Buenos Aires provided. From the moment we arrived, we never touched our bags, they were placed in our room, and all of us were greeted by name, my children included. Having all of us acknowledged, welcomed, and made to feel like the most special VIP guests was impressive! Check in was simple, speedy, and pleasant. We were escorted to our room where a welcome letter and treats for all of us were waiting, and then reminded of our reservation that had been previously arranged, since they also send a welcome email and recommend several activities, restaurants, etc and handle all of it. Throughout our stay, if I called for anything, it was brought immediately. I called down one night for a reservation to Pony line and told them I would be down. When I exited the elevator, Agustin was waiting and walked us to Pony Line to ensure we were taken care of. They are constantly refilling the water, coffee, amenities, so even if you use it in the morning, by afternoon/eve it is refilled and you are never wanting for more! There is not a single detail they miss, they are perfectionists! I was worried about coming to BA and the level of security, attention, and service here made me feel extremely comfortable, safe, and like we made the best decision. You are in a safe neighborhood and within walking distance to many many restaurants, coffee, convenience stores, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else! Many Four Seasons and other brands should really train or take notes from Agustin, I don’t think I’ve found someone of his caliber yet on all our travels around the world, he deserves a promotion or...
