I would give the Pony Line a general description as a unique bar with a great selection of cocktails and a unique twists put on traditional foods.
We were greeted immediately and sat at the bar. Dimmed atmosphere but not dark. House made chips and house barbecue sauce were given to us. Anto (Antonella) was an extremely helpful and professional tender. She offered plenty of suggestions and took care to ask the right questions making sure we ordered to our liking. The detail to drink preparation was outstanding. You could tell she took much pride in her presentation and professionalism. We felt very welcomed and appreciated. And, she had a great personality! She was very easy to talk with and remained genuinely engaged.
This is a great venue for a couple to have a few cocktails and some quality food. It also seemed to be appropriate for a small group business meeting or even a few friends to gather for fun and a laid back atmosphere. The music choice we experienced included many well-known American songs. Everything from classic rock to pop. We found ourselves singing to most of the songs.
If/when we return, we will definitely return for the great service, great food and laughter. If you are looking for an upper-scale casual atmosphere, you should check...
Read moreA great three-hamburger experience! Our waiter, Joaquin, who was great and spoke English fluently, recommended: instead of the two of us ordering the Classic Burger ($29,700 / $31) OR the 45-Day Dry Aged Burger ($33,000 / $34), we get BOTH - first sharing Classic Burger and then their well-known Aged Burger. This was great advice! If you are only ordering one, I recommend spending a little more for the Aged Burger. (Of note, we had to cut the burgers in half ourself, which was no problem.) We also ordered a third “burger”: the Burger Pony ($12,000 / $12) dessert: sweet Brioche bread, patagonzola (Bleu cheese) ice cream, semi-bitter chocolate, peanuts, caramelized smoked bacon, and tomato jam. If you like hamburgers and desserts, I highly recommend the Burger Pony.
Although a ~$30,000 ($30) hamburger (or in our case 2) is extravagant, the service was AMAZING, our waiter met us with complimentary shots & potato chips, it came with very tasty fries (or a salad), and there was free WiFi. Ask to be seated at one of Joaquin’s tables.
We were dressed super casual, and although the exterior security was intimidating (probably its job), the hostess and waiters treated us like royalty, probably what one should expect from the...
Read morePony Line is located inside the Four Seasons Buenos Aires. It serves at the hotel's main lounge, thus is open only at night.
ATMOSPHERE: Located just off the lobby, it's a small space with lounges, high tops and bar seating. It' s not a dance club by any means. The crowd was younger-local and the vibe felt like an upscale social event, making for easy conversation with not too loud DJ music. Decor is warm and contemporary.
MENU: Bar-style apps, charcuterie, sandwiches, burgers, salads, pizzas, desserts.
While we didn't eat, my spouse and I were looking for a night cap. Because we were guests of the hotel, we didn't have to pay a cover charge. Being that it was a Saturday night, the place was filled but not overly crowded, meaning no seats were available but no one was standing around either. We were told we'd get a spot ASAP but instead of waiting, we decided to walk across the street to the row of restaurants that are under the freeway overpass. Personally, I like to explore the city and not just stay in the hotel anyway.
As expected while walking by the place on a Sunday night, it was completely empty! Oh well.
OVERALL: Maybe next time we'll get to experience the food and drinks. So, it's a...
