Due to ongoing mismanagement, a lack of managerial professionalism, and conflicts of interest, contrary to the name, this establishment is not a suitable environment for families by any measure. Give this one a miss. WiFi rarely if ever works and should not be promoted as a feature.

This is a pub attempting to be something it simply is not. Meals are similar to any other overpriced pub bistro and marginal in quality. At best, quality is inconsistent making it a poor value option. Toilets are a patchwork quilt of superficial repairs and usually filthy. The building is in need of maintenance - and check out the heavily charred timber work around some fireplaces in the bar.

Customers are very well taken care of, if they are regulars, to the extent that reports of brawls and people being served drinks way beyond the point the law permits are absolutely genuine. And this is just scratching the surface. This pub is well known as the pub you go to in Bathurst when you have been banned from every other pub in town and this status quo can be expected to be maintained because of a blurred line between staff and clients - to the extent that a manager is engaged in a relationship with a regular.

Bathurst has lots of other pubs to choose from, especially in this vicinity, many of which are family-friendly, so do yourself a favour and choose one of them instead. When you do, you have a chance of keeping your money in Bathurst to help develop the local economy. The Family Hotel is owned by a consortium based in Sydney (HWH HOTEL CONSORTIUM PTY LTD trading as Watering Hole Hotels 404/3 Waverley St Bondi Junction NSW 2022), so all profits from that venture will ultimately be siphoned out of the local community making a bad...

dropped in here on the way through to Orange recently. a cold and foggy drive over the mountain. but was greeted by a warm and friendly pub just off the main road in Bathurst. it was a thursday night so the place wasn't humming with people. but the service was great. and the food even better. i am an absolute lover of country pubs in particular the food. and the Family Hotel didnt disappoint. my wife ordered the curry. (no pictures. sorry) and I took advantage of the bangers and mash. a couple of points here. the sausages were clearly made at a butchers or in house. no mass production here. juicy. meaty. not much more to ask for. but there was more. the gravy on point. and as a nice little touch that you barely see in the city. mashed peas to compliment the mashed potatoes. a welcome addition. and one i want to see more of in the city. overall. happy we stopped here. could have strapped in and watched the footy. but the drive ahead still needed to be completed. well done Family Hotel Bathurst. will recommend. and will try to stop by again next time we are over...

The family hotel ok its lovely the staff are helpful and quick the lunch menus rotate so there's always something different as well as very well priced $15.00 bargain in this cost of living you can order outside of that however the price does go up ..so a couple drinks and a meal each won't kill your budget....and it is lovely always fresh and nicely presented...the meals area could do with a pop of colour and some plants the outside could do with a facelift as well jus to make it more alfresco as it is a lovely space but needs more vibing and something interesting to catch your eyes while dining there ...if you want to have a go at the pokies it's tucked away nicely in the corner...the best coffees are served to you free in there as well ...I do recommend the family service is great and friendly nice clean place ..it won't disappoint for casual...

What a lovely place with such friendly and welcoming team that work here. We decided to order a few dishes as everything on the menu looked yum. The grazing platter had seafood on it that was fresher and more delicious than some fancy Sydney seafood restaurants by the water... blown away. I only gave 4 stars because the burger was over sauced making it hard to eat with way too many thick pickles. The balance of flavours was not there. The steak with prawns hubby smashed don't think he stopped for air.. loved it. Thank you guys overall a great lunch.

Worst pub meal I have had for a long time, the staff need to learn what is on the menu and make sure that is what is presented, and who would think being across the road from TWO supermarkets you would run out of "tomatoes and bruschetta bread" BEFORE dinner service on a saturday night, management needs to up the game when there are so many places to eat right near them. Ps ... this " brown slop" was supposed to be a warm thai beef salad ... it was bits of overcooked beef strips swimming in a brown, cold mess
