We were greeted by a woman who stated that there was no where to park the hire car, so we had to pay $15 per night and park it out the front on the property. I asked for a room with 2 single bed. she said, "no, there are no rooms left! You booked a double". We took the key and asked if we could eat as it was dinner time. We were informed that we had 30 minutes as the restaurant closed at 8 pm! We didn't even go to the room to freshen up, We took our bags with us and we went to eat. The staff at the restaurant/bar were very accommodating. We thought there were pokies as the website showed this in a picture. THERE ARE NONE HERE After dinner, which was very tasty. we proceeded up to the allocated room. It looked clean although a bit dated. We enjoyed the balcony with a wine. There are no biscuits or mini bar in this motel. The bed was comfortable and clean. We were woken twice during the night by noisy trucks, this was on a Saturday morning. One was stationary outside the building for about 20 minutes and then a couple of hours later, it sounded like a rubbish truck run. After an unsettled night, we woke and got ready for the day. While I was stepping into the shower, the middle sliding door fell off its hinges and I was left holding a piece of glass. I fought with it till I was able to get it to stay in a safe position till i could look at it after my shower. I had to climb out from the other sliding door which had been placed there so you can turn the taps on from outside the shower recess. Sounds odd? it was! Anyway, we decided this was not the place for us as we had booked it for 2 nights. On the breakfast menu, there was no phone number to call and we had not been asked if we wished to have breakfast when we checked in. We packed up our things and went downstairs to sign out. We noticed the restaurant was closed. We were greeted by a blonde headed woman who came out from the back room. She was chewing a mouthful of food and continued to speak and said," Yes"? I told her that we had booked in for two nights and we would like to leave as the shower door fell onto me in the shower. She said " oh, that's a shame," Like she really couldn't care less. She looked stern and then said," why didn't you call someone to come and fix it!!!!!! I told her that it had just happened that morning and I was telling her about it now. She spoke to me like I was a naughty child, not a paying guest who could have been injured from the glass. This woman is no asset to this business. I said we would like the money back from the car parking as they took $100 of us and said they would take $ 15 per night. She then said, so that's $75. I said NO, we were only here for 1 night! We need $85 change. She gave us the money and we left. I do not recommend this place. Spend the money on a tent, you...

We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We were on a business trip in Brisbane/Gold Coast for 7days and planned to stay here the final night before catching a plane the following morning. However, we contacted the hotel a day before the booking for cancellation as we became positive to COVID-19. Even though we contacted them as soon as we found out the result, they were not prepared to accept our cancellation. We thought we were doing a favour for the hotel by not visiting and preventing the spread of the virus in their room. The situation was beyond our control but they showed no sympathy and clearly weren’t interested do anything as they said they’re not legally obligated. They were not even prepared to move the booking or give us credit. We simply lost our money just being honest with the hotel. It would have cost them so much if we had turned up with the infection and contaminated their room with the COVID virus. They would have had to do a costly deep clean and leave the room empty for at least 4 days afterwards as is the protocol. We did the right thing by being honest and called to cancel to booking but they took advantage of our honesty. It was a lucky income for them that they got to keep our money without providing any service. We did come to Brisbane once we were confirmed negative and booked into a humane hotel unlike the ruthless hotel this one is. I would suggest that people note this review and think about staying somewhere else as they certainly don’t adhere to the ACCC guidelines around COVID “to be fair”. It is so disappointing as we stayed at the Tower Mill many years ago but will never again. Agoda where we booked through also called the hotel on our behalf to explain the situation but they said that the hotel staff were not helpful and that nothing more could be done. Agoda also told us that this hotel is being unreasonable, especially since this cancellation is due to a Covid infection. Agoda suggested keeping the booking open so we can leave our reviews and other people are able to see what they did. We lost our money but the Tower Mill has lost their reputation as a decent business. Word of mouth is important and we will certainly be telling people we know who are planning to visit Brisbane to give the Tower Mill a wide berth. Such a sour taste after this experience. Disappointing at a time when we expected some understanding. We also wonder if Agoda should list such hotels in...

First up. Fabulous service from check in staff, including leaving our bags to have them delivered to our room later and being given our room key to access on return to the hotel when the room became available. Downfall to the room on the 7th floorBeautifully renovated bathroom, downplayed sadly with mould in the bottom left grout seal; followed by visible wall fuzz/dust growth behind the main entry door, mould all through entry ceiling and down walls due to clearly a heavy water leak from the floor above. Not stoked on the high presence of breathable black mould spores posing a health risk; thankful I'm not allergic nor have asthma but honestly that was truly a what the F? Fix it guys.

We were keen for the affordable greasy spoon cafeteria style breakky downstairs, very quickly destroyed by the $5.40 cup of coffee served in a hospital cup, with no saucer or spoion (i used a dessert spoon feom the cutlery holder) unsealed creme with an inch of foam and $2 charge for soy milk; $2 via me & u app, 90c on paper menu. I alerted the counter staff to ask why the cost difference as everything else appeared the same as paper menu, he had no answer or care whatsoever. Then breakfast arrived, *ordered the menu avocado on sourdough with lemon, Feta, and cheery tomatoes and an array of sides; firstly food was served upon a red/white paper underlay which stained the poached eggs and sourdough with red dye????? And then, there was no lemon nor Feta on the dish.

Price point for the room was awesome, great views and cold air con and location on point, Cafe has too much going on and nil staff so I felt mildly sorry for them. But this roster/scheduling error should have the bosses down on the floor, or train your team to execute the cleaning, maintenance, food and beverage service to an acceptable experience. I was looking for cons, but they were...

Lazy staff failed to provide effective notification, causing me to miss my check-in time and no refund. They take everything for granted and they are extremely irresponsible Their so-called contact and follow-up messages are simply a few emails sent at their end of the working day, and they assume that people on the trip will reply to them immediately! Unlike other hotels or even motels, they are not willing to call or send text messages to inform customers. Isn't it ridiculous that this behavior is considered diligent? My follow-up contact with the hotel has always shown the arrogance of their staff and management. After a few days of negotiation, they rudely ended the conversation and cancelled my order without refund. In the reviews of the hotel, I have seen numerous complaints against their staff, and I would like to say that these comments are indeed true. Moreover, they have made their customers miss their check-in time more than once because of their laziness and ineffective notification. Obviously, they have not made any changes or reflections. If I were a qualified hotel manager, I would not let this happen to any traveler, and obviously they don't. The staff and management did nothing to make up for the mistakes made by the hotel, they just speaking nonsense like robots (or even worse than robots). I already expect to see another useless response from them under my review. I am not a picky person and I have never given a bad review to any hotel, except this one. I had to leave a bad review because of their staff and management. Also, I have reported this situation to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. Do yourself a favor, don't waste your money and ruin your mood. Choose other hotels if there is a choice. Unless you want to see their rude and arrogant staff.

Location is a win! closer to Central station if taking the train from the airport. A few restaurants and grocery stores also close. There is a free bus that goes around called Spring Hill Loop bus. A nice park as well close the hotel that is worth visiting. As for the hotel, rooms are a mix of new and old. Floors are new as well as a few items. Air Conditioner on the family room (306 exactly) photo attached, keeps one side of the room colder than the other. Windows are very old, bathroom is small and light flicked several times. Also shower door did not close. Security latch at the door was more a decoration ( you can take it out if not to used). Workers at the restaurant were nice. Front desk were alright. Not much of a great experience or helpful but what can you said. Got a letter in our room to bring ourselves chair and table on the balcony to the front desk due to cyclone, come on!!. They were very nice to hold our luggage since arrived before 2pm. Front desk opens at 7am. Poor customer service. Rooms do not have USB chargers which I wish they had. Rather a radio from 2000's. I think you can play a CD?. Refrigerator was decent as well a few glasses, cups and coffee. On this, coffee machine run louder, as it was really working hard making bad coffee. You do not need an alarm, garbage truck at 5am will wake you up while removing dumpsters. New windows would be nice, since 1980's do not cut it. Finally, we were able to rest, visit Brisbane and great access to public transportation as well as the business center area in town.
