My recent dining experience at Punjabi Rasoi left me with a mix of satisfaction and room for improvement. Nestled in the heart of the city, this Indian restaurant certainly knows how to delight your taste buds with its delectable cuisine and exceptional hospitality.
From the moment I stepped in, the staff at Punjabi Rasoi welcomed me with genuine smiles and a warm demeanor. Their attentiveness and willingness to accommodate special requests truly set a positive tone for the evening. The service was prompt and attentive throughout the meal, making me feel well taken care of.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. Punjabi Rasoi undoubtedly knows its way around Punjabi cuisine. The menu boasts a plethora of mouthwatering dishes, each brimming with authentic flavors that transport you straight to the streets of India. The rich and aromatic curries, accompanied by perfectly fluffy naan bread, were an absolute delight.
The dessert selection was equally impressive, featuring classic Indian sweets that provided a sweet ending to an already delightful meal. The Gulab Jamun was a standout, offering the perfect blend of sweetness and texture.
While the food and hospitality certainly shone, there is room for improvement when it comes to the restaurant's atmosphere. The decor felt a bit dated and lacked the vibrant ambiance one might expect from an Indian restaurant. A fresher and more contemporary aesthetic would undoubtedly elevate the overall dining experience and complement the delectable dishes on offer.
In conclusion, Punjabi Rasoi is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Punjabi dining experience accompanied by exceptional hospitality. The flavors are undeniably on point, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable meal. With a little attention to enhancing the atmosphere, this restaurant could easily become a five-star destination. I look forward to revisiting Punjabi Rasoi and witnessing its...
Read moreI reviewed this restaurant on a Friday afternoon. Good variety of seating, good for large crowds & kids. Hmmmmm the food was nice, I had the Vindaloo lamb with rice, which should have been very spicy, but I found it a little bit tame. Still nice, but a little bit tame. They had a good variety on the menu, but I felt like I was cattle being corralled. The service.... Hmmmm, I don't know about that. The girl on the checkout made my experience harder than it had to be. If she listened to the customer (me) at what I was trying to ask her, like "where do I collect my food?', instead of interrupting me & assuming what I wanted, they'd be getting a better review. Also I'm not a fan of those stupid little buzzy things to collect your food in a restaurant, you're a restaurant, not a good court, pub, etc, serve the food to your paying customers. Also the payment system... The cashier didn't give me the choice to pay cash or card, she just ran it up on card, & gave me a surcharge, it wasn't til after when I overheard her offer someone else cash or card that I realised they had the option. I would've preferred to pay cash, & not copped the surcharge. The bar service... Next time, give someone the complete options, not just what gets it through quicker for you. Finally the state of the kitchen... Hmmm I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of the kitchen as they were receiving deliveries, & although "clean enough", (yes I've done my kitchen health & hygiene course), the chaos & having things stored in there that shouldn't be kept with or near food isn't a good look, I wish I could've sneaked photos of it. Would I go to this restaurant again? No,...
Read moreThe dining experience was thoroughly disappointing, starting with the lackluster food, which lacked any real flavor or distinction. The ordering process was unnecessarily convoluted; patrons are required to place their orders via a digital menu on the table, only to be directed to the front counter to pay. While the concept of efficiency is understandable, the experience left much to be desired.
The most off-putting aspect, however, was the employee's unsolicited pitch for a cash discount, a tactic that felt more like a sales gimmick than a genuine customer service gesture—hardly the kind of practice one expects from an establishment aiming for quality.
Adding to the dissonance was a peculiar and rather off-putting instruction displayed at the counter, which informs diners that once they’ve ordered, they must step outside and wait while their meal is prepared. This unnecessary inconvenience only further detracts from the overall experience.
To top it all off, the use of flimsy paper cups—typically reserved for tea or takeout—adds to the sense of a haphazardly executed dining concept. A restaurant that cuts corners on even the most basic elements, like glassware, leaves one questioning the attention to detail elsewhere in the meal. All in all, this was a dining experience that fell well short of...
