I was looking forward to booking the apartment with those guys and reading all the reviews and it appeared there was actually a fair bit of negative reviews. I still decided to go ahead and enquire and ask for the quote because the hotel itself looked nice. So on their website, it was advertised that they have a deal on all of their rooms pay for 3 nights and stay 4. However, i couldn't decide what is the best room option for us and so I sent an email and asked for advise and quote as i also wanted to stay an extra night and wanted to know if 3 and 4 can be done 4 and 5 instead. I got quoted for 1 bedroom superior price $1245 for 5 nights. When on their website for the requested period it gave me the price of $948 for the same apartment so i actually got quoted nearly $300 more than on their own website. So I then asked that i am thinking of booking a two-bedroom superior instead and would i be able to have the same deal applied to those apartments, since it states on their website: STAY in any of our rooms and pay for 3 nights and stay 4 when you stay before November and I wanted to stay in August. So I asked if this deal is available for the two-bedroom apartments also and he told me yes if available.. SO i had a look on their website and the dates i required showed there was availability. I then asked if he can send through a quote for 2 bedroom one with the same deal he instead answered: " HI, stay pay not available for the 1 bedroom units. $1185 ' This was at all different price again and was unsure what was this price for and as he originally quoted 1 bedroom for $1245 and now said that stay and pay is not available for 1 bedroom apartments when clearly on their website it displayed availability and also included the deal and showed up with price $948 and at the end i just wanted to know what the two-bedroom apartment would cost as he said that the deal is available so on the website it stated one night in the two-bedroom apartment was $294 and if you apply the deal pay 3 stay 4 that would have come to $882 for 4 nights + add one night $1176 (when he quoted $1245 for one-bedroom and then advised one bedroom is not applicable for the deal even tho their website says all rooms and showed availability ) So I then tried explaining and questioning those things as I was still unsure what was the final prices for any of the rooms and how come they quoted more then their own website says.. and reply i received :
Morning deals on our website, and our partner websites change constantly. Please if you have seen a cheaper price book through the website.
So why to say that deals constantly change on their website when the deal says clearly it is until November the 5th 2020 ? Yes I would have booked through the website but because i was not sure what room was best for us and wanted to see what they recommend and after all those inadequate quotes and unprofessional answers I went and booked with another hotel instead. They call it 5 star hotel but it sure are not 5 star customer service.. I am glad i booked somewhere else with a hotel that was helpful and accommodating and even offered us a great deal because we wanted to book direct with them. For people that want to stay .. do your research and read the reviews of this...
Read moreVery disappointment!!! I don't recommend Peninsula Airlie Beach! We booked for Xmas break; a 2 bed 2 bath apartment for 6 nights for 4 people, my parents, my husband, and I. Unfortunately, just a night before the flight, my father went to the hospital as an emergency and had to stay for a couple of nights, and also I got Covid. My husband called them, explained the situation, and asked for cancellation, credit, rescheduling, or even a partial refund, but they didn't accept either. We paid $4,406.40. I even suggested they give us credit, and we will use it NOT in the hot season, but again they said NO! They said we would open the room for the booking, and if someone booked it, we would refund you based on as many days that the room gets booked. However, I checked their website and all booking websites every single day, and they all showed they were fully booked; they told me they would open it, but they didn't!
Unexpected situations can happen, and even if it is related to health and an emergency, a little bit of consideration, courtesy, and trying to be helpful and solve the problem is a minimum exception for a five-star accommodation. Unfortunately, from my experience Peninsula Airlie Beach has a zero rate of customer care and...
Read more15-18JAN23 We booked a 2 bedroom waterfront apartment. We were greeted by Paul, such a lovely warm greeting, to be told Fran had changed our apartment to her favourite one...Panorama. when the front door was opened...WOW! what a spectacular view over the Coral Ocean & marina! I'd booked as a birthday/Christmas gift for my parents visiting from UK (also happened to be my birthday during our stay). I was also welcomed with a beautiful cheese & cracker selection, chocolates & a beautifully chilled bottle of Chandon,a birthday gift from Fran & Paul! The apartment is amazing! Everything we needed and more! I'm lucky to live on a marina, but this obe is next level! The walk along the board walk into Airlie is just great, just a little too far for my father, but my mother & I did it on our 1st day, some great little coffee shops on the way. I would have no hesitation in staying there again, fingers crossed next year when other family members visit, I'm sure they will also be blown away by the location, the stunning viesws/apartments & the amazing hosts Fran & Paul Thank you both so much for an absolutely unforgettable few days in Airlie (Def prefer Peninsula to anywhere on Hamilton Island!)
