Cafe One 3 — Restaurant in Airlie Beach

Simply put: Absolutely amazing food. I came to Airlie in February of 2015 and spent the first night eating at the Down Under bar, because that's where all of the backpackers were told to go. The second day, I ate at Cafe One 3, and for the next 4 days, I ate lunch there every day and didn't go near the Down Under Bar again. If you are looking for healthy and delicious food, then I cannot recommend this cafe enough. At first, I wasn't sure what to get, so I asked our server, Andrew, to surprise me with a very filling meal. He checked to make sure that he knew what type of ingredients I might like, and then whipped me up a dish of epic proportions with all sorts of vegetables, nuts, and sauces. I didn't have a single meal at Cafe One 3 that left me lethargic.

Best Vegetable Curry I've ever eaten! (Get Curried Thursday's - today's was Biriyani) I am not a Vegan nor Vegetarian but left with the same content as I would have in any other dining experience containing meat which for me is normally a must. I am a convert! The Iced coffee I had was also a game changer, I usually feel sickly after having iced coffee's but not today! The prices are extremely fair especially considering the generous sizings! The flavours were amazing, you can tell it was definitely made with love! The space itself was funky yet cosy, very inviting and comfortable. The owners are sensational hosts, I will definitely be back. Make sure you allow a little extra time to browse there amazing selection of homewares and produce, well...

This morning my partner and I had breakfast here for the first time. We ordered a breakfast burger and their daily special “fox in socks” (scrambled eggs with chili on sourdough) with two lattes. The atmosphere is just beautiful and you can see the food is freshly prepared using real whole food ingredients. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs very much - unlike many other cafes it was not a mixture but just using real eggs only! Unfortunately even though I love spices my meal was way too spicy that it overpowered everything else and you couldn’t taste anything else. The waitress serving us the coffee was a bit rude towards us. The coffee was served with a bite of brownie which was divine! So so good and I would love to try their banana...
