Bayview Bay Apartments — Hotel in Gold Coast City

Before going to Bayview Waters we asked for a quiet room. Bayview Waters replied as follows.||On 2017-07-16, Bayview Waters Apartments wrote||||"....Hi, we place you in a room at the far end of the complex away from all traffic noise. Although this complex is very quiet as it is. The far end has a better view also. Cheers Janette (Manager) ..."||THE REALITY.||I think we had the noisiest room in the complex.||As we did not discover this until the first evening, long after office/booking hours, there was not much we could do except put up with the circumstances. ||( office closed at 4 PM).||Their comment on our complaint to them was as follows||"....We had a previous guest extend their stay and consequently the room we had originally allocated to you was no longer available. We did not have any other rooms available on the days of your stay. This apartment is old and has 3 levels (with no elevator). Some residents live on site but generally it is a quiet place to stay.||||Parking is in the basement. This review is based on two apartments both with 2 rooms. The location to Runaway Bay is ideal and some rooms have a water view. Depending on the booking the apartment style can vary for example, my apartment had 2 airconditioners with only 1 aircon in a bedroom, the other bedroom had a fan. Both airconditioners were dirty and poorly maintained. In the other apartment there were NO airconditioners in the bedrooms and 1 unit in the living room. ||||My apartment had Foxtel, the other didnt (and wasnt connected). My bathroom never drained properly and hence water ponded and never drained.||||Not all units have clothes driers. There was no internet in the apartment. There was one light (out of 2 in the laundry). One of the 2 bedside table lights worked.||||Apart from the outstanding maintenance issues and lack of airconditioning in the bedroom, the apartment was comfortable and a reasonable size. Firstly, I will blame Flight Centre for the poor booking. Asked for a place near the beach, 2 bedrooms with a kitchen so needed an apartment, place with air conditioning and internet. Got nothing that I asked for. Only internet is in reception!! Talk about false advertising. It’s not like there was a budget issue. This place does not have any bus shuttles come past - transport is next to none. So you either have to get a taxi/Uber just to go get some milk or walk for about 1 hour one way. It’s old and dingy, have to hold the shower nozzle and wash urself at same time cos nozzle won’t stay on wall. Place smells and looks like the 60s! Cassie from Flight Centre has a lot to answer for.
