Well after 4 years I went back last night.
We started with the calamari and zucchini flowers—presentation wasn’t anything to write home about, but the flavours came through. The zucchini flowers were a little on the bland side, but the chickpea salad they came with was unexpectedly tasty and balanced things out.
The real star was the eye fillet—cooked to absolute perfection. Juicy, tender, and full of flavour. It’s clear they know their way around a steak.
Finished off with the crème brûlée which had that satisfying toffee-style crack on top. The rhubarb was a lovely twist that gave it a bit of tang and freshness.
Staff were super attentive—borderline too attentive at times, but hey, better that than being ignored.
All in all, a solid experience!

Great Friday night out. Had a table on the top level and even though it was raining, there was a lovely view and we didn’t get wet.
Customer service is outstanding! We were greeted by the owner and escorted to our seat and had a little chat. Staff were diligent and friendly.
Unfortunately oysters weren’t available due to accessibility, so we opted for the calamari to start.
Light, fresh, hot and flavourful - served with bread rolls.
Mains were rump with garlic prawn topper, fries and coleslaw and mini eye fillet with pork ribs topper, jacket potato with bacon and coleslaw.
Garlic prawns were so good but sadly only 3 🙁 steak asked medium and cooked to perfection room albeit a bit fatty.
The Eye fillet was undercooked, however quickly re cooked and re prepared. The jacket potato was soft and creamy (tastes like it’s cooked in some sort of magic butter). Came with a Paris butter - sounds weird but surprisingly yum.
Unfortunately there were 2 ribs left on my plate when it was returned to the kitchen, but didn’t make their way back so I didn’t get to try the ribs.
Stylish venue with a great atmosphere.
Only thing to comment is I felt the presentation of the meals was not commensurate with the pricing.
Will be back to try...
Read moreFirst time here for my partners birthday lunch, I had heard good things from multiple people and read lots of great Google reviews. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, I was asked if I wanted a drink instantly (love this). The restaurant itself is in a great location, you can see the water and it's beautiful inside. We sat on the rooftop inside, the doors were open and it was a late 20 early 30 deg day but the temp was perfect with the slight breeze coming in and aircon. We ordered a number of entrees, the asian style oysters were up there with some of the best oysters i've ever had! The flavours were just amazing, Kilpatrick were good but a little over cooked for my liking, Pate and Zucchini Flowers were also good, the beetroot side salad/garnish with the flowers was a really nice addition. I will definitely order the asian oysters again but will try other entrees. For our main we ordered the T-bone (comes with a baked potato garnished with smokey bacon bits and coleslaw) and a side of chips. I'm not a huge steak eater but I enjoyed it and most importantly my partner did, it was cooked to perfection medium rare, the potato was very soft and tasty and the chips were nice and crunchy. My partner and I shared all of these dishes and it was enough food, I could have probably fit in another entree but I did leave feeling good. I do not recommend ordering the kids steak unless your kid is a VERY small eater, the steak is tiny. The ambience needs work, turn the music up, put something interesting on the tv (not horse racing). Oh drinks! I had the marg (without sugar syrup), loved it and my partner had a couple different drinks and I believe he enjoyed them all. For 4 adults and 3 kids we paid just over $500 total (this included a bottled of bubbles, 3 cocktails, a couple reds, bubbles and beers- Pretty good! We will 100% be back! In fact I ordered a $200 voucher just...
Read moreWe dined at Cavills Steakhouse for a birthday / Father’s Day dinner recently. We had a table for 3 which was so tiny & would struggle to accommodate 2. My 23 year son, while reaching for the salt, accidentally spilled my red wine across the table, which unfortunately resulted in almost the whole glass of wine landing all over my husbands steak dinner. Note..my husband very much dislikes red wine. He couldn’t not finish his dinner. Despite looking for a waitress, we were unable to call anyone over. Fortunately only a few minutes later, the waitress came past to ask if our dinner was ok. After informing the waitress of the spillage (which was visible on the table, on my side plate…after draining my husbands plate as best I could, & also on my husbands dinner), the waitress saw the wine everywhere & acknowledged that yes, the table was overcrowded & simply offered to remove the bread (which I was planning to eat but agreed would free up much needed space). The waitress did not offer another glass of wine, or attempt to mop up the mess. Once our plates were cleared, there was red wine under our plates & also all over the table. My husband almost put his elbow on the table but luckily he didn’t. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was only average, the gravy was tiny & the experience did not live up to our expectations The seating arrangements were similar to a small cafe. We all agreed that the steaks were not a fantastic quality or cooked as well as other steak houses we have visited. I was hoping that this would be our new regular restaurant but I’m sorry to say that we likely won’t be back unless they invest in larger tables & train their staff...
