I had high hopes for this place. Been here once before for drinks with friends and it was a good experience so I was keen to come back to try the food. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Came on a Wednesday night for parma night. This was the highlight of the evening as it was a solid parma. Chicken was moist and with crispy edges, although it did lack some tomato sauce I don't mark it down too much as that's up to personal taste. Chips were fine - good but nothing to write home about - although I did like the seasoning. Unfortunately the steak that we also ordered was a letdown. Got the porterhouse steak and ordered it medium. It came out extremely rare - almost blue. The kitchen cooked it again but the waiter who served us did not look happy at all, giving a dismissive and insincere apology on her return. The 'wedges', as others have noted, were just roast potatoes cut into pieces. The steak itself was also nothing special - the cut that we got also had a thick artery running through the middle. Some parts had a nice charred taste but other than that certainly not worth the $43 price tag. The main let down though was the service. Although we were greeted warmly it was downhill from there. It took 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order (we did try). Other than the 'apology' for the steak, it was difficult to get anyone's attention even though some were clearly idle. Some were paying more attention to the trivia and trying to answer questions than attend to the tables. When we left yet another waiter at the register was very abrupt and rolled her eyes when I pointed at the table we were sitting. And after all that, they charge a surcharge for credit and debit cards even though I was never told nor is there any sign at the register that there is a surcharge. Overall we were disappointed. I wanted to like this place but can't recommend it on account of the mediocre - average food and the poor service experience.

This wasn't a great experience. Firstly, the hostess didn't even crack a welcome smile, very curtly took us to our table. Not a huge deal! Then the option of ordering drinks and food via the barcode on the table had no option of ordering online. The hostess didn't even mention this while seating us. After 15 minutes of realising there was no way of ordering online, the same hostess advised that we will have to give her the order. Then, we waited! For 50 minutes, before we checked with a friendly waitress the status of the order. She advised that it shouldn't be long and 10 minutes later, we received our order. The food was definitely a let down. I ordered the open Lamb souvlaki and what arrived was a massive chunk of lamb fat and very little meat. I returned that back and received a better serve of shredded lamb. But none of it had flavour. My friend ordered the steak and chips but it was all flavourless. This experience would be rated a 1 star if it wasn't for the friendly waitress who also greeted us with a smile on the way out and for the shredded meat that was later added to my meal. None of the 5 of us will be visiting here for a meal again.

Well all i can say is this was not an enjoyable experience. A very limited menu with iver half of it vegetarian or gluten free made shorter by only 1 cut of steak available. Place has a wine/alcohol list 10 pages long but cant stock 3 diff cuts of steak. Order took 20 30mins to arrive and was less than underwhelming seeing ur steak have a charcoal look that u can do cave paintings with and a taste that is tough to chew just bought the meal down further. House cut chips are potatoes. Quartered and cut into wedges to.then be served half cooked with a salad that had just leaves and consisted of a tart vinigrette dressing that was just yuck. Atmosphere was busy with some random trivia game going offf in.the corner but all we heard was muffled bursts frim the microphone and cheers for 90minutes. Overall just a bad experience for us. Overpriced and over valued.

Lovely big venue, with room to move between tables. High ceilings and interesting things to look at but on a personal level, I'm not interested in taxidermy animals in the bar or restaurants i go to. It seems to be some wanky Melbourne trend to display rare, extinct or just pointless poor animals in a venue, just to get people thinking it's cool. It's actually not cool, it's just a tacky way to make a impression on people hungry for a fad and I'm just not into that really. I think more focus should be put on the food so that people go back for that and then that's what a place can be renown for, not the dead animals. The food was kinda bland. Sounded good on the menu but didn't have anything memorable About it. Friendly staff but nothing to write home about. Good fairly quiet place to have a casual lunch or a nice drink at the bar but it gives the impression that it would get kinda loud into the later evenings. Overall, not the worst place I've been but certainly not one I'd rave about. Middle of the road with potential to do so much better and get people raving about it but they seem to rely on people coming in for the trendyness. Melbourne can do much better than this but it isn't all bad. If you're like me you can sit facing away from the dead animals and look at other interesting things...
