I had to cancel my initial stay at the last minute and Susan was really accommodating in rebooking my stay with no cancellation charge, warm, welcoming and understanding, and this followed through in everything about my stay. I was running late and called to see what time I could check in till, and Susan remembered me when I rang. When I arrived I finally got to meet Susan and felt instantly at home, kind, sharing info with me without it feeling like a normal check in process, it was like someone sharing and explaining their home to me, even providing me with the Daylesford guide book that I have used since. This is a simple gesture that means alot and brings return visits to other businesses. I was in the heritage building upstairs, in a room with a loft and extra beds, the lights were turned on, the heater on, it was so warm and welcoming and like I had stepped back in time to my own private cottage. The room was spotless but warm, I love the blend of old and new, wifi yet also an old rotary dial phone to call reception. In the morning I chose to have breakfast here, and was delighted I did. Again, Susan greeted me, the fire was going, games and books on shelves, a choice of breakfasts and again, like I was in someones home, or incredible B&B rather than a hotel. I could have stayed there for hours enjoying my breakfast, staying by the fire. Incredible value for money, warmth and hospitality, I would now not stay anywhere else when visiting. Who Susan is, her kindness, her welcome and consideration and the way she is, her warm smile, (Susan smiles with her eyes), should be bottled and sold, for others to learn from. Thank you for an...
Read moreI previously shared a 5/5 review for Central Springs Inn for their cleanliness, central location, and nice staff. These qualities haven't changed; however, this time we returned with a bigger family of two kids, we were allocated the family rooms on the north side that face Camp St and Raglan St.
These rooms are older and more rundown than the more stylish ones behind reception. The windows couldn't be locked, the shower was leaky, the cupboards had a damp mildew smell, the ceiling and walls were acoustically transparent, no tableware was provided, and the room felt really cramped.
At night, you can hear your neighbor snoring, your leaky shower, the road noise that gets worse at 6am when all the trucks start rolling in on Raglan.
To make matters worse, if you want to charge your EV from a regular powerpoint, this will cost you $15 per day for up to 12 hours of charging. This is the only motel I know that bills for EV charging, which may be the start of a new trend. The smarter choice is to charge either in town or at Hepburn Springs for cheaper, faster, and on 100% renewables.
Central Springs Inn is a 3.5 for me, but considering the low price of $250 a night during peak season, 4 stars is probably a fairer rating. Although if you have two or more kids, it's probably a good idea to pay a little bit extra for a...
Read moreHad a wonderful stay here for my birthday weekend and really didn't want to leave! All the staff we interacted with were so nice and friendly and helpful and gave us great recommendations. Also, the room was so quaint and cozy. We had a fireplace room and we absolutely loved it!! Perfect for a romantic get away!! The staff set up the fire for us so it was super easy to light every evening when we were ready and we really enjoyed it. The room had comfortable chairs for lounging by the fire and it was so so lovely. The bed was comfortable and had electric heating pads under the sheets to turn on if you wanted even more heat. Also, the main street of Daylesford is literally a 3 minute walk away so we had a great time exploring the shops and cafes. So many fantastic restaurants within walking distance. You can even walk up to the Sunday market in a bout 10 minutes and drive just 5 or 10 minutes to even more fantastic restaurants, spas, and other tourist attractions. We definitely plan on staying here again and...
