The Waterloo Pioneer Memorial Tower was built in 1926 in Kitchener to commemorate the arrival of the Pennsylvania Dutch to Southwestern Ontario. It was conceived by William Henry Breithaupt, who wanted to heal wounds of nationalism fomented in the city during World War I.

Great view of the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens and the surrounding Daylesford area. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow but well worth the climb! We visited during early/mid spring and the gardens were in full colour. Would be great to visit all year round with the gardens putting on a natural display throughout...
