I’d always been curious about this chocolate shop. Every time I passed by, it was closed, so I decided that the next time I found it open, I’d go in. I ordered the matcha-flavored ice cream sandwich I had seen on the poster. It had just the right level of sweetness, perfect for a matcha lover like me. The biscuit was substantial and not too sweet, which I really enjoyed. I also bought some chocolate, and it was delicious with a rich cacao flavor. I’d love to come back and buy more as gifts for my friends 🧡

This review is just about the ice cream. The shop itself, Kakawa Chocolate, as the name suggested is a chocolate shop. There was a few flavours to choose for. I went for matcha ice cream. I couldn’t remember how much the price exactly, but it was about $6-7. The ice cream was solid but not hard rock. It was covered with chocolate biscuit. The matcha was spot on, the taste was not overpowering. I liked it. Smooth and enjoyable suitable for hot day.

Received one of their chocolate hearts as a Christmas present and it was divine. Nice little note on the inside of the heart and the chocolate was one of the best I have had in Sydney. It was enough for me to want to visit the shop.

A super cute chocolate and ice-cream shop! Definitely one to go back to.

The moment I walked it, it smelled rich of chocolate! So warm and delicious, there was a very happy feeling, like I was a kid and wanted to explore everything in that small little shop.

There was a range of everything, different kinds of chocolate, dipped in fruits or in nuts. They come in chocolate bars and chocolate bits, all for you to take home!

My favourite which I tried was their ice-cream sandwich. I bought the hazelnut sandwich and this very moment I’m still missing it.

It’s got slight crunch on the inside of the ice-cream - a very generous portion and a thin layer or chocolate biscuit holding it together. As I walked down William Street savouring my ice-cream sandwich, I felt like a happy kid with a beautifully made ice-cream. A shop that brought back childhood senses, somewhere I’ve been dreaming of going back...

Kakawa is a small little chocolate shop in Kensington Street Chippendale that is near hawker lane. They sell small little chocolates of either dark, milk or white with different fillings. They also sell bags of chocolate to take home, hot chocolate and chocolate dots. They also sell square ice cream sandwiches, which is what I went for. The flavours included honeycomb, chocolate, black sesame, blue berry cheesecake and more. I went for the raspberry cheesecake between two chocolate biscuits. Nice creamy ice cream with a lovely raspberry...
