Awful. I spent 2 hours trying to check in, via app as it says on the web/msg that they send you from the property, I sent txt and called through all the numbers they have, no response at all. The front door is closed, so there's no way to get in, someone opened the door for me, and the guy at the reception said he finished his shift, but took me to the room anyway, my bed was clearly used (which I confirm later when another guy from the room told me that a random person that wasn't staying at the hostel slept there days before and it was dirty since then), no lock door on the room, and no door for the locker. I went to the other hostel a few blocks away, and again, about 45' waiting for the receptionist who was outside, and the phone to contact them when they were not there was lying on the desk. She finally gave me another room that was tiny, 'capsule' room, the door doesn't even open properly because the structure is in the middle. No space for the luggage, the mattress was harder than sleeping on the floor.. no pillow or doona cover (and the pillow had stains in it). The toilets are dirty, no toilet paper, I showered with cold water 3 times as there was not hot water at all (winter). There are about 3 forks in the kitchen, the fridges smell super bad, tables are dirty, cleaning products are lying down on the hallways (window cleaner or bleach, nothing that belongs there). Staff is not helpful at all, there's no staff, just a few volunteers. The reception at the hostel was closed 3 of my 5 days stay.

We decided to stay here because my friends stayed there back in december, however we had a very different experience than they did. When we arrived there was a sign saying that there no longer was a reception, so we had to check in through another hostel. Okay thats alright. We checked in and got our room at 3pm because it was "being cleaned". We were horrified. They only changed the linen, the floor was dirty, there was actual rubbish under the beds and it smelled like feet, they didnt even bother to take out the trash. We tried to open the windows to get the smell out but it was impossible. There was no reception to call, so we ended up calling the reception of the hostel where we did the check in. They told us they were sending someone to clean it. They never showed so we called again. Once again, no show. The next day we went in person to the hostel and they told us someone was going to clean it. They took the rubbish but didnt vacuum or did something about the terrible smell. The toilet was also really dirty, and for two days they didnt refill the toilet paper. The room was so small for 4 people and the smell. There were some showers that were not working. They ended up vacuuming the day before we were checking out. Wouldnt go back there. I attached pictures (screenshots of the video we showed to the reception). We are usually pretty chill about the cleaning, but this was too much even for us.

I don’t even know where to start. My booking for a 4 bedroom mixed room was reassigned into an 8 bed female only. Me being the only female in my group there’s a very obvious reason why I didn’t select this option. They ended up splitting up my group all into separate rooms because they didn’t have the space for us. My door code didn’t work after 1 day and the front desk is impossible to get in touch with as it just goes to voicemail immediately. Majority of the guests are French people who live in the facility long term and just treat the place as their own that guests just sleep in. They don’t respect the common space or even your own room when they come in chatting and laughing, turning on the lights when they get back from delivering uber at 2am (I’ve never seen so many uber workers in my life). They constantly leave the kitchen and eating area a disgusting mess, despite the supposed $40 charge for not doing dishes. No rules are strictly implemented so your rooms are a disaster as the floor and other beds are just covered in clothes. Good luck getting a locker… The showers barely work and when they do it takes 10 minutes for the water to heat up. Overall this place is awful, from the service to the facilities and even the guests. Avoid this place at all costs.

I stayed here with my friend for one night last month, having taken the long journey from the UK. When we arrived, jet lagged and exhausted, we were horrified. We were advised to leave our luggage in the “luggage room” which was tiny outside area with guttering dripping all over the bags. We decided to leave our bags inside instead but were then met with what looked like rat droppings and someone’s boxers dumped on the floor in the hall way. Litter and filth everywhere. When we were able to check in the room wasn’t much better, our room was right next to the ‘garbage room’ there were big brown stains all up the wall (we dread to think what it was) along with Fruit flies and it smelt. We were too tired to leave to try to find new accommodation so stuck it out for the night. The door didn’t fit the door frame so we kept getting stuck inside or outside of the room, it was noisy and the bathrooms weren’t cleaned in the time we were there. The toilets didn’t even have locks on the doors which in a shared gender bathroom is just horrible for young girls to have to use and feel safe in. We were also due to return to the hostel 3 weeks later at the end of our trip for another 2 nights, obviously we knew we couldn’t bring ourselves to go back so found another place to stay and emailed the hostel advising them of our issues and asking for them to waive the cancellation policy on this occasion and to refund us the two unused nights. The hostel responded that they are sorry for the issues, but no refund will be provided. We asked them to reconsider and have been waiting weeks for a response, only to now be told they’re looking into in and will come back to us? Not sure what they could still be looking into as we provided evidence and I’m sure they can see for themselves. Extremely bad customer service and all around disgusting hostel.

Myself and my friend are both well travelled and have stayed in a lot of cheap hostels around the world and in Australia, we know what to expect from cheap and basic accommodation and are usually completely fine with it. There are however no excuses for somewhere to be so dirty and disgusting, no matter how cheap a place may be, it a basic ask that the place is cleaned every now and then and you don’t have to walk through literal shit to get to your room. All around awful hostel and awful customer service to follow. If the hostel had provided half decided aftercare and some kind of compensation, I wouldn’t be leaving such an...

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! I honestly don’t know how this place is getting so many 4 + 5 star reviews they must be asking their volunteers to leave them to save their star rating. This hostel is a walking bio hazard and needs to be investigated by a health inspector. The room (which i don’t think has once been properly cleaned) was littered with half eaten mouldy food, there was snot all over the walls, hair in the “clean” beds and perhaps the worst of all BLOOD on the pillow which the lady checking us in tried to sneakily flip over and pretend it wasn’t there. Two of the beds weren’t made and had others belongings on them and we had to ask 5 times for them to be made up for us. They oversold the room and there were 9 people in an 8 bed dorm, luckily two of my friends were in a couple so had no worries sharing a bed. Had to walk through the bathroom to get to our room. The stairway and walls were mouldy and filled with E-bike battery’s charging (which is a HUGE fired hazard.) I’ve stayed in so many hostels in third world countries that are better than this absolute dumpster of a place. It looks absolutely NOTHING like the photos they show. The bathroom only had 2 working showers out of a total of 4 in the building. The toilets had holes in the walls and wouldn’t lock or flush. The kitchen area was filthy. And despite offering a free breakfast it’s not even at this hostel it’s at one of their other ones so you need to walk there each morning. AVOID...
