Thai Power — Restaurant in Sydney

It has been 3 years since were last here in Sydney and we were so happy to be able to visit these guys once again. We’ve been visiting for so many years and they never disappoint. The lunch special price has gone up a little to $11, however still excellent value, The portions have not changed, (still large) and the food is an explosion of flavour. The chicken laksa is to die for, as are the hot and spicy noodles - we love them with beef. These are just two of our faves - frankly all their dishes are worth a try. Service is fast and friendly and by the time you take your water and glasses back to the table and get settled, the food will be only a few more minutes. Tables are well spaced, hand sanitiser is available, the front window is a bifold window / door and is usually wide open so lots of fresh air flow. A number of years ago (the last time we went here), we used to think this place did the one of the best pad thais in Sydney. Unfortunately our recent visit was not great. While a couple of dishes were ok/average, the pad thai was overly sweet and quite gloopy. The main reason for our disappointment however, was that the dish selected was supposed to be with mixed vegetables and tofu. I'm sorry, but bean shoots, grated carrot and two pieces of broccoli the size of a 5 cent piece does not constitute mixed vegetables. Such a shame. I understand that costs are probably going up. This was one of the first places we had lunch at Sydney during our visit. It was recommended by our AirBnB host. It's clean and pleasant and the host is friendly. The location is quite ideal among many BnBs and hostels and their prices are quite decent as well.

We tried the veg fried rice, tom yum soup, seafood panang curry and a veg panang curry. I wouldn't call it the best Thai food I had but it wasn't bad either. We had just landed and wanted to find the closest place that clean and had decent food that fulfilled our hunger and I think it did it. They do takeout as well.
