We arrived at the Swansea Beach Chalets after the office had closed for the day. Our key was waiting in a box outside the office. Along with the key, was a map of the property, and a form for me to fill out. My wife was sick with a cold, and I was getting sick. When we found our unit, all of the windows were open - it was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside, and the rooms were freezing. I tried to turn on the air handler, but could only get it to blow cold air. I tried to call and email the office, but, of course, no one was there. There was a printed piece on a table in the "living room" with a QR code on it, but I could not find a password for the internet, so I couldn't access the QR code (The management told me later that there was a sheet with the password with my keys, but I never saw it.) I called Expedia to see if they could help, and when they couldn't, I asked them to help me find another hotel room - which they did. I then asked for a refund, and Expedia said they would contact the management. We went to a local hotel with heat. We never used the room, and left it in the condition that we found it. There was no reason to charge us. The next day, I heard from the management of the Swansea Beach Chalets, who placed blame for our unpleasant experience squarely on me. She was rude at best. The worst lodging experience I have had in...

I booked my stay here thru Booking.com on the night of 26/11/24 and didn’t realize that instead of 27/12 I must have pressed 27/11 for 2 nights stay here. ||Less than 24hrs and MY mistake realized. Emailed & Called the hotel immediately they said contact booking.com who were understanding and said they would refund despite being non refundable if the hotel agreed. Called and emailed the hotel begging them to NOT even refund just credit the amount of 547AUD to my correct travel dates of 27-29/12/24 to which they declined saying hotel policy and responsibility to shareholders! Even though the hotel offered me the same dates and to pay them 500AUD again !!!! ||No Xmas spirit and Humans make mistakes, this is their customer service. ||I don’t like writing negative reviews but thought it appropriate to warn people to avoid such traps. ||For proof I have all emails from hotel and booking.com so this review and my experience is true and I will not be...

Epic spot!!! Perfect location right on the beach. Can hear the waves breaking as you sleep at night. Not much better than just relaxing on your patio listening to the waves with some snacks & beverages. Great location from which to explore Swansea. We walked into town everyday. Great location to get your ocean or beach on! We brought our paddle boards and got out regularly! Lots of swimming too! Units are nice & clean and have a stove, toaster, kettle & microwave to give you lots of flexibility. Staff are incredibly nice and welcoming too!! Many going out of their way to let us know of events going on in town or offering up various amenities. This is our second of many future stays. We love it!!! We will be back!!!

Enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Facilities are clean and well equipped. Chalet’s kitchenette is equipped with sufficient utensils for cooking, which it’s important especially given the lack of dining options in the area. Location is slightly further from the freycinet tracks (about 50 mins drive) but it’s a decent trade off for all that this place offers in value and view. Swansea is also probably a more stocked town compared to the others around. Receptionist was also absolutely helpful and friendly and shared with us her knowledge of the area and things to do. Would definitely book again if I’m in the area. Paid about 150SGD per night for a single cabin chalet, for 2 nights in August.

Great service at check-in. Easy to find. The view is delightful on the seaside, though the chalets are well positioned in a staggered manner that there is a sweet little view for the 2nd row of chalets too. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. The small 2str sofa was quite comfortable, and after a long day of driving, it was nice to sit and sip a cup of quality hot tea provided and take in the view. The grounds are well kept. The mattresses are a bit firm, which resulted in a getting up before the sunrise with a tight back; however, the silver linings here was again enjoying a cup of tea and watching the gorgeous sunrise.
