The Horny Cray — Restaurant in Tasmania

Wow, this was a serious disapointment. On Thursday 24/10/25 1.45 We decided to have Fish and chips for two @ $35.00 and a serving of 6 Oysters Kilpatric @ $18.00 I was advised a 15 min for the order. After that time our meal was placed into a coles paper bag. We went for a 5 minute drive beside the water. To find the Kilpratric oysters were not cooked at all. The fish was 25mm thick x 100mm x 100mm two good portions, but the batter was soggy and causing chips and dim sims to be the same way. No browning was seen on the dim sims indicating little time cooking. I returned back to the outlet asking about why the oysters were not cooked. The answer was stupid and rediculus. I did eat the oysters, but the bacon was raw and so were the oysters. If I wanted Raw oysters kilpatric I would have ordered tham that way. I was then accused of lying eventhough I returned the oysters shells and raw bacon pieces as proof. Showing no heat at any stage was applied. I would also like to mention serving raw bacon can make people very sick. I'm also a cook and know the health dangers you could have caused. A simple Sorry and paid me back for this dish would have been fine, but I'm going to the health athorities about your blatent arrogance and lies. Called in for lunch on our way from Scamander on a day trip. I ordered the fisherman’s basket with fish bites, prawns, scallops, squid and chips. Very nice. One of my passengers ordered the seafood pizza, he raved about it as he ate it so we shamed him into sharing some. One word. AWESOME!! As we drove further south we kept talking about it. As we returned north we stopped again for dinner and ordered the Curried Scallop pizza. Just as good as the Seafood. This place isn’t even a pizza shop but the best pizzas ever. I don't usually leave reviews but when I do I like to leave positive ones but unfortunately this isn't one of those occasions. The service I received today from the lady behind the counter was not the best, not very welcoming and was very blunt, no smile and definitely lacking customer service skills. From other reviews I have read it seems to be an issue that they are aware of but clearly don't care about. The food I had was okay but was nothing special and the price was a little high for what I got but I do understand that being a small town it may be a case of having to charge that bit extra.
