A long review but needs to be said: The most unprofessional & rude experience we have ever had with an accommodation company. Our booking was locked in & confirmed via email, we had organised, planned & booked a week away in TAS for our anniversary staying at Swansea for one night in the Spa room.
A lady by the name of Christine (owner) called this evening, 2 weeks away from our booking telling us they double booked & if we want to change our room (without spa) obviously we said no as we have planned this for quite sometime, it's our anniversary & it is too late to find accommodation now, after we told them no they hung up.
Not long after, they call again telling us the same story that they double booked, I explained to them that this has been planned & organised for months & we have been looking forward to it & this is not our error or problem. Christine's demeanour over the phone was rude & she took no accountability whatsoever, I was so unbelievably frustrated due to her lack of professionalism & unethical responses-she made us feel bad, as if it was our fault & before she hung up on me she said 'we don't have a room for you anymore!'.
After Christine hung up on me I called back speaking with a lady named Rachel (manager) I was furious that a company thinks it is ok to treat guests like this, Rachel was not much help either asking us this time if we wanted to change the date of our stay, I explained to her that we are unable to do that as our trip ie: accommodation & plans have already been booked, confirmed & organised so no we cannot now change the date. The fact that they have placed this stress on top of us after we have already planned our trip for our anniversary is not ok! Before Rachel hung up on me she also said abruptly 'we no longer have a room for you!' Poor form & so unprofessional on every level, learn how to run a business , treat your guests with respect & manage your operations better! How dare you expect us to change our plans due...
Read moreThere were two blocks of units, one facing the sea and my block. Parking was just outside the room for easy access and unloading/loading and was in good walking distance to pier and main road. I spent two nights here was initially concerned about temps as there was no aircon but by opening both front and rear (screened) windows it created a nice cross breeze. The bed was fine. On the first night I had to close the front window at about 9pm because the people next door were a little noisey (and I had an early start). The only downer for the Swansea leg of my trip was the cool weather but that was not the fault of the Swansea Motor Inn. I specifically came here to snorkel in Coles or Sleepy Bay but it just never warmed up and I didn’t want to be left with a wet wetsuit for the rest of my trip. Would stay here again and hope for 30°...
Read moreI travelled around Tasmania with my 87 year old father who has dementia. This room was one of the rooms we liked the best. We paid more to secure a room with a deck overlooking the sea and it was worth it. We had our breakfast on the deck in the morning sun.|The room was spacious with a double bed and a single.|The bathroom was a little tired looking with a couple of broken tiles.|The kitchenette wasn't a kitchenette as it didn't have a sink; you had to use a plastic bowl and water from the bathroom.|Overall the room was a little tired however the deck made up for it. had we not had a deck I think that we would have felt that we could have been anywhere.|There was no USB plug which I think should be a must in a motel/hotel...
