I honestly dont even know how to explain this hotel ..... the hotel itself is stunning, it really is a design hotel and we love everything about the fit out and clearly a lot of money has been spent making the hotel look the way it does, but something just doesnt work and completely destroys what could be a fantastic experience. Whoever is employing the staff has clearly forgotten some key components. Management needs to remind the staff that the hotel is NOT for the staff it is for the $$$$ paying guests and when you have what seems like a ratio of 1 staff member to every guest (as the hotel was virtually empty at the time we visited) this should NOT be an issue. It is just so hard to put into words how odd the manner is towards guests but there is absolutely no warmth from the key staff members and in many ways they act as if the guests are an inconvenience. At the time we were staying the hotel was also employing students who were in training ..... we support these initiatives but when it seems that the hotel is perhaps doing this to line their own pockets and not ensuring that the students actually receive a rounded experience that is valuable it is nothing short of disgraceful. After asking one key staff member a question about the area she informed me to ask someone else and thereafter walked off with some other staff members and proceeded to laugh which was very poor form and made our family feel very uncomfortable. Another gentleman, the sommelier, clearly has not been educated in how to interact with guests or make them feel welcome .... I had to introduce myself and ask his name as he was not at all forthcoming but clearly wanted the guests to know he was very important. There is no explanation from the staff as to what the hotel has to offer and without having read about the hotel before we arrived we would have had no idea. Arrival was very bizarre, it was like we were arriving at the hotel and maybe on a foreign planet we might want to have access to our room at some point. Breakfast at the hotel was also a very strange lengthy affair and the staff members had not been educated as to what was available. The hotel likes to suggest that it prides itself on anything is possible and/or available but as soon as you ask a question ... for example, at breakfast are there hot dishes other than eggs available ..... the standard response is NO!!!! or for example, "I read that there is afternoon tea available for the guests, is this available now?" "No" "OK, when is it available?".... "There is NO afternoon tea" "Oh, I read that there is" To which another staff member who had been listening in said "....Oh there is ..." but offered nothing further so the rather painful conversation continued until we were finally given one small slice of cake despite the fact we had 4 family members (2 of which were children ..... and had been waiting patiently while this lengthy conversation took place for this cake) ..... just all so very very odd and not at all fitting with the 'we are so COOL and helpful slogans' they like to throw at you in their advertising and the room info. In many ways the happy slogans are patronising and condesending given their actual attitude towards guests. It is really like they are taking the guests for a complete ride and making a joke of their guests. Just so very disappointing as this hotel could be wonderful if the staff were friendly and interested in their guests. There is a level of nochlance and almost disdain for their guests but this now comes as no surprise as before submitting this review I thought I should out of courtesy let the hotel owners know but their response only cemented my views regarding this hotel, so in essence the problem lies with the owners who clearly have little interest in the feelings of their guests. For the amount of money it costs to stay here I highly recommend staying...
Read moreDon't hesitate to book! We have stayed at many top hotels across Europe and I have to say this hotel became one of our top favorites! It was really surprising and pleasant how Wiesergut managed to maintain the family run, cozy, authentic charm and pair it with top quality luxury both in service, aesthetic, and functionality! We stayed in room 5, the hideaway suite and it was breathtaking. The sauna, hot pot, fireplace were pristinely maintained and every night housekeeping would prepare it for convenient use. The design is modern and charming and cozy, so relaxing! The food was clearly top quality, healthy, and delicious. Convenience to skiing was unbeatable and the ski room is very convenient. Anything we asked for the hotel gladly arranged. The spa and gym facilities are pristinely maintained and has everything you need for a wellness stay, including reformer machines in the gym! From the hideaway suite you can see the gondolas go by, the starts rise in the sky. Everything about this stay was so relaxing and enjoyable we cannot wait...
