I have recently returned from a weekâs holiday (bed & breakfast basis) at the Chalet Rosanna in St Anton am Arlberg. (This is not to be confused with the former Mark Warner Chalet Rosanna nearby which is now an independent hotel after years of under-investment).
This Chalet Rosanna is situated just behind the iconic onion-dome Church in the centre of St Anton and is the charming ancestral home of the Kerber family who still own a farm in the locality.
The Chalet is managed and operated by the utterly delightful Ulrike âUliâ Kerber, who went way beyond what was necessary in order to make our stay trouble-free and a home-from-home.
Having recently been refurbished to a high standard, the bedrooms of Chalet Rosanna are impeccably well appointed and maintained in a clean & today condition with a daily cleaning service offered by Tania & her daughter, Larissa.
A highlight of our stay were the outstanding breakfasts, which offered fresh produce from the family farm (including eggs, various cheeses and yoghurt etc).
What really made the difference, however, was the ever-present helpful & smiling Uli Kerber for whom nothing was too much trouble. She really is an outstanding hostess who made us feel so welcome.
After checking in, it soon became apparent that we could pick up and pay for our lift passes in the Chalet, saving valuable time queuing at the main lifts next morning. The âicing on the cakeâ was to discover that, upon presentation of a voucher at Alber Check-in next to the Galzig Lift, guests could enjoy storage of their skis, poles & boots etc free of charge (normally about âŹ20).
I therefore have no hesitation recommending this Chalet Rosanna as a first class Chalet in which to stay. It is ideally located in the centre of town, close to all lifts and facilities, and it is warm, cosy and very well maintained.
Read moreI stayed at the Rosanna for a ski trip in January and really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast buffet provided a good selection of quality items. There were warm eggs, various cold meats, cheeses, yoghurt, croissants, breads as well as a selection of cereals. Many of the items were sourced from the owners farm a few km away. My room appeared to have been recently refurbished and was cleaned to a good standard every day. The location is fairly central and more or less equidistant from the main Galzig and Nasserein lifts, so there is a short walk to the lifts. However, there was ski and boot storage next to the lift included in the price, which made things easier. The host was very welcoming and all in all this is a great choice for a stay...
Read moreA masterclass in hospitality from the wonderful Ulrike. Such a warm, happy and helpful host who has created a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere in her beautiful house. It was a real treat to be staying at Chalet Rosanna for two weeks. I stayed in a very comfortable, clean and quiet bedroom. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The location is excellent, in the centre of the town but tucked away from any outside noise. Included in the price of my stay was also the use of the ski and boot depot next to the main Galzig cable car which was a bonus as it's very well organised and convenient. I thoroughly recommend Chalet Rosanna and my sincere thanks to Ulrike, Tanja and...
