Do not dine here. We made the mistake of ignoring other similar reviews about this place.
I feel terribly sorry that the large woman we dealt with (who I can only assume was the owner, as I cannot imagine how any employee would be so brazen in their disdain for customers), has landed herself in the position of having to deal with members of the public on a daily basis.
From the moment we arrived it was made clear that our very existence was upsetting; we were a group of eight who were sat, by her, at a table for 12. Shame on us! Throughout the meal every interaction with this woman was met with her sighs, eye rolling, and a flippant attitude. As we finished the meal, she complained about us to another group of customers who were sitting at the same table, no doubt also trying to drag them into her misery.
Well, maybe the food might be this place's saving grace (and an excuse for the irreverant attitude)? Unfortunately not. Maybe it was this woman's poor attitude that ultimately soured the flavours, but every other meal our group had in St Anton this week was better.
I leave one star only because I cannot leave zero. Without any exaggeration, this was categorically the worst experience I've ever had in...
Read moreFantastic authentic Tyrolean restaurant. We went twice during our week in St Anton. They don't take reservations but it's not a problem as they'll always fit you in and you can stand or sit at the bar whilst you wait. They're keen on sharing tables to get everyone seated and it aids the great atmosphere. It's busy for good reason.
If you're vegetarian there's a full page of options which is rare. The soups are a good option on starters and the hearty mains range from a trio of dumplings in brown butter, venison ragout, kassespatzl, steak etc. Ingredients are local. It's not a flashy place but is all the better for it
The owner is very welcoming and the staff were super friendly, on-the-ball...
Read moreDisrespectful. I’m German and have never been spoken to by any staff like this. Honestly disgraceful. I am disappointed. They looked at me and the first thing they said “do you really think you would get in with these?”. Yes I was wearing ski boots. But honestly I spoke to the head waiter and he didn’t think it was a problem to speak like this. If he had said “excuse me sorry but we don’t accept anyone with ski boots.” I would have accepted it but honestly this was so disrespectful. I am going to make sure that this place goes from its current rating to as low as it possibly can because I believe a place should at least...
