Arlberger Dorfstubn — Restaurant in Sankt Anton am Arlberg

My wife and I went to the Dorfstubn on our first night in St. Anton and had an OK meal. Beef goulash. Nothing special, nothing horrible. The service was rushed and the staff clearly wanted us out of there ASAP. We went there a few nights later with two other people, on an evening when many restaurants were closed, and had one of the worst experiences ever. The host made it clear we had to be in and out within 90 minutes, which we agreed to, and then we were put at a table in an alcove next to the pass, where the wait staff picked up dishes to be served and brought back the dirty dishes. Three of us ordered Wienerschnitzel (veal) and it came to our table so fast we suspected it had been pre-prepared and then nuked. Nonetheless, it was just lukewarm and the breading was soggy and flaking off the meat. I am not sure if Austrian cuisine is just a dissapointment or if this restaurant is a poor example of it.

The food was expensive, bland and it did not look good. I guess it is hard to make the dish taste good if the traditional food is boiled meat.

The service was not great. Mostly the server brought stuff to the edge of the table and asked people to pass the food around. We ordered aperitif drinks and the food was brought almost immediately. Everything felt a bit rushed. We were not asked if we wanted to order more drinks before the main course. The beers we ordered for thr main course were brought after we had already almost eaten.

At the end of the meal the service pointedly said that GRATUITY IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE and stayed at the side and kept looking at the amount that was punched in. Very uncomfortable and pressurised situation.

Worst waitress ever, if she had been a good one she had gotten our food and drink order in 15 minutes and sent in our orders fast. She kept us waiting 45 minutes. It took 1h 30 minutes before we got our food. It probably was good but the hour was too late to enjoy it. If she had been god there had been time for dessert but no, she was too slow.
