Stayed at this hotel for four nights and generally enjoyed it, with some caveats.||The staff were welcoming and genuine. (Compared to another place I stayed near Westbahnhof that begins with 'M', they were noticeably nicer at the Amedia.)||The room is a decent size. I like the fact that you can actually open the windows all the way, (unlike in the U.K.!) Also the mini-fridge is a big plus. It allowed us to have cold drinks anytime.||Breakfast was good. It consists of four or five kinds of sliced meats, cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon (sometimes) cut up frankfurters, several kinds of fruit, really nice variety of fresh rolls, various pastries, various cereals., coffee, and juices. Still I don't think the breakfast is worth 17 euros. I would say maybe 10-12 euros. But if you can get it for a good price as an add-on then it's worth it. ||In the way of constructive feedback, I would say that the red themed colour of the room is not all that relaxing. I did not really feel like relaxing or hanging out in the room. And the lounge is not welcoming either. Nobody hangs out there. It should be re-thought and redesigned. ||There is a small outside space where you can sit at a table, but oddly, it is used as the space for smokers! ||The thing that I disliked the most was the half-inch gap in the bathroom door. That means, if you come here with a romantic partner, you can hear every noise and everything else from the bathroom. It seems like a big turn-off. ||It's probably the first Best Western Plus I've seen without a gym. On the other hand you can get plenty of exercise by walking around the city.||If you enjoy walking and would like to discover more about Vienna, try walking down Landstrasse -Hauptstrasse all the way into the centre. It gets more interesting the further down you go. There is a typical neighborhood market called Rochusmarket on the way where you can stop at a cafe/wine bar. ||Or else just hop on bus 74A which takes you to Wien Mitte or StubenTor, where you can walk into the Stadtpark (City park) or into the 1st district.||If you are staying for a few days the various bus passes are quite a good value and save you from having to keep buying tickets at the machines. You can buy the passes at the machine, or online with the...
Read moreWe enjoyed a stay here in November 2022 for a long weekend in Vienna. The hotel itself was lovely and well looked after. Our room was a standard room but was a very good size, had lots of storage along with a nice bathroom. The room also had usual amenities such as a kettle, fridge and a safe. There were also nice touches like a complimentary bottle of water in the room on arrival.
We had breakfast which was a great quality with plenty of choice.
The location was good for us, less than 10 minutes from the U Bahn and around 30 minutes to Landstraße where the CAT Train was, a little more central.
There were a few negatives which is why it is not a 5 star review. The first was that a lot of the staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than tending to customers and it felt like an inconvenience that you were at reception. We also tried to order a taxi the evening before we were due to leave and watched the receptionist write our request down and confirmed times with us...only to find when we turned up the following afternoon to get in said taxi that apparently there was no booking, nothing written down about it and the tone taken with us by a woman who seemed to be senior acting as if we clearly hadn't booked one. They also couldn't seem to grasp that we were no longer the occupants of our room as we had checked out in the morning! They just seemed to be on the defensive rather than trying to help! The other annoyance was they seemed to cancel our key card on our final evening - we had to go down to get this sorted and had to actually tell them we were booked for another night! (I know key cards lose their programming sometimes but this really did not seem the case). We just feel the reception team could be more welcoming to customers - we know there are some difficult ones but they don't need to treat every guest like they are trying to make trouble! A couple of points about the room, we had a toe nail right beside the bed when we arrived and also the shower plug was blocked (causing the shower to practically flood when used). The team did resolve this...
Read moreVisited in December 2024 with my sister, a 7 Yr old and 14 Yr old. The hotel is very well situated for buses and trams, and we found it to be a perfect base to explore Vienna. Our room was a quadruple room with enough space for the 4 of us. One double bed and 2 low single beds. The 2 low single beds are not comfortable at all and are like sleeping on the pavement; ask for some extra duvets for more comfort (we stayed in room 109, not sure if all the low single beds are like this in all rooms).|The room had a large wardrobe with hangers, shelving and a safe, a tv, a vanity desk with a chair, and bedside tables. The bathroom was large with a good shower, and also had a hairdryer in the room. There is also a mini fridge in the room and as there is a Lidl in the very next building we stocked up on soft and fizzy drinks as they cost a fortune everywhere in Vienna, but are very cheap in lidl.|Breakfast was in a large area just off reception and contained a wide variety of choices. Fruits, various yogurts, cereals, numerous pastries, bread, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with bacon, sausages (not great but fine), then the cheeses and hams that they eat on the continent. Lots of hot and cold drinks are available to suit everyone. All of the employees were very helpful and friendly during our stay. There is also a luggage room that they allowed us to keep our luggage in FOC for 5 hours or so on our last day. The hotel has underground parking and there are also 2 lifts in the hotel. It was a nice clean hotel with friendly employees. I would stay here again, but would need to make sure we didn't have those low...
