Satraj - Indisches Restaurant 1030 Wien — Restaurant in Vienna

It was late evening when we reached to our booked hotel in Vienna. We thought of taking  rest for some time and then go out for dinner. Unaware of the closing time of shops and eateries in the city, we left for dinner at 10:15 pm. By this time all gets closed there.

When you are in an unknown country and you see a restaurant having the national flag of your country on its doorwall ,you feel so proud and get tempted to enter that brasserie. Impulsively we entered but discovered from waiter that its their closing time.Propitiously the brasserie's owner came and out of sheer kindness let us in for dinner. And let me tell you all, that we might have missed on the 'HEVEANLY INDIAN FOOD' that night if the owner wouldnt have been so kind to us. The most delicious tomato soup I have ever had was of this restaraunt. Finger licking kadhai panner with one of the softest naans we have eaten so far were chef special.

One cannot seek for more blessing than an Indian reaching out to other Indian, in a foreign land, with all the hospitality he can offer and that too to its best .

As we were his last guests for that night, we came out after heartily thanking him for all the special treatment provided by him.As he also had to leave for his home nearby,he locked the dining. Coincidently Metro was on his way to home,where we had to go. This was the time we got to talk and know to each other well.

Inquisitively we asked him about his journey in Vienna and settling there as a restaurant owner. Showing trust on us, he shared  his whole story from beginning of his expedition in Vienna to this day ,all true to its spirit. Being from the same motherland, we felt so proud knowing his efforts and achievements. His  story of endeavour really inspired us. A big thanks to him to make us feel at home. Will surely visit this wonderful restaurant and have delicious food and meet the owner, if we get the chance to come to...

My experience about the restaurant was awful, they were condescending and disgusting towards me. I work as a food delivery guy and was waiting for a big order to be ready, an order for which the restaurant even after cutting the share for the delivery company, got more than half of my daily salary. Usually when I need to use the restroom, I just go if I know where it is, because all the restaurant crews I’m working with are nice and humane people, and they know we don’t take a mobile toilet with us at work. This restaurant is different, they rudely stopped me and told me that the toilet is for guests only (btw there was only one man eating in the restaurant at that time)! I told the waiter that since I’m waiting for an order that’s going to feed a whole family, I guess I’m considered a guest, but he just refused to answer, and I’m a nice guy so I went back to the pick-up table. 10 seconds after this awkward moment, a mother came in with her daughter holding Anker cups, asking to go to the toilet, and the waiter, the same one telling me that the restaurant is only for guests, says sure and lets them in. It was humiliating and disgusting.. I’m not sure where the logic is hiding in the aforementioned waiter’s mind, but I will never know as I’m not going to touch that restaurant’s...

Absolutely useless is not the word. Me and my family had visited them yesterday. Firstly they said that they require a booking. As we were tourist we said that we had made no booking. He said that one table was empty but you need to finish before 2100. We had reached by 2000. We were ok with it. When the waiter came totake the order he said that for this order you cannot block the table. We were surprised as he only had said that we need to quickly eat and empty the table. Being Indian going to Indian restaurant and being treated like this was awful experience

Not sure what would have happened if the same would have happened in India. Luckily "Satraj" you are in Vienna.

Hope no Indian goes there. I will definitely not suggest any Indian to go there.
