I stayed with family for two nights at this hotel which is located on a narrow road behind the main road. The reception/waiting area is clean and tidy with well dressed staff. However, be prepared to be bitten by mosquitoes if sitting in the waiting area. There is a nice lift to take one up to the rooms. The touch keys did not work and one staff member said that the batteries in the locks were dead. So the door had to be opened manually with the key. This was also the case with a second room occupied by relatives.
The room was comfortable with a double bed, chair, table, wardrobe with very squeaky doors, empty fridge, a side table and a telephone. There was a ceiling fan and a working air conditioner. The bathroom had a shower, commode, wash basin, tooth brushes, toothpaste, soap and shampoo. There was also a bucket and a mug. There were two towels and a pair of slippers to use when entering the bathroom.
The bedding was plain white in colour. The bedsheet had a small hole near the edge and there was also a red stain somwehere near the edge. We did not complain but this was changed on the following day.
Breakfast was included and there was a reasonable choice on the first morning. The second morning beakfast was served from the kitchen as Ramzan had started and there were no customers. Small pieces of omlette was being served with pieces of parata, vegetables and dal. I had to complain about the small piece of omlette so I was given another piece. There was orange juice and tea as well. Meals are also available at the hotel and the one meal that we had there turned out to be very good compared to some ot the other...
Read moreI recently stayed at Elaf International in Cox's Bazar for two nights with my family, and overall, it was a pleasant experience, especially for a budget-friendly trip.
The rooms were quite good, clean, and reasonably well-maintained. Although not luxurious, they were comfortable enough for a family stay. Room service was responsive and satisfactory, attending to our needs without delays.
The staff behavior was courteous and professional, which added to the comfort of our stay. One of the highlights was the buffet breakfast, which offered a decent variety of items including parata, eggs, khichuri, mixed vegetables, shemai, juice, tea, and more — a wholesome start to the day.
The hotel is located a bit away from the main Sugandha road, situated on a second lane, so while it’s not directly on the beachfront, it's still conveniently close. The surrounding area is relatively quiet, which might appeal to travelers seeking a peaceful environment.
In conclusion, Elaf International is a decent and affordable option for those planning a budget trip to Cox’s Bazar. While it may not be lavish, the service, cleanliness, and overall ambiance make it a comfortable choice...

Negatives: From 6/7am, lobby phone rings continuously so loud that you can't sleep. And as you are not sleeping, they play recites from Quran from 7:00am and plays hindi musics an hour later at all the lobbies, loud enough to disturb you in the room if you are not in a mood to listen those forcefully. No restaurant so far. Doesn't accept cards. A little far from the sea and main road. The road to reach here from the main Kolatoly road is broken, dusty and muddy.
Luckily I met the owner. He is a kind person and eager to upgrade his hotel standard. He thought that Quran recitation and hindi songs would upgrade the environment, which unfortunately backfired. Hope he understands that everyone is not a...
