I recently had an unfortunate stay at Hotel Mishuk in Cox's Bazar, and I feel compelled to share my experience to help future travelers make a more informed decision.
To start with, the breakfast at Hotel Mishuk was a major letdown. The options were extremely limited and the quality of the food was poor. The dishes lacked freshness and flavor, and the presentation was equally unappealing. It was clear that the hotel did not prioritize offering a decent breakfast experience for its guests.
The staff's attitude was another significant issue. From the moment I checked in, I noticed a distinct lack of professionalism and hospitality. They were not only unhelpful but also seemed more interested in receiving tips than in providing good service. Every interaction, whether it was requesting housekeeping or asking for information at the front desk, was accompanied by an expectation for a tip. This behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout my stay.
Security was another major concern at Hotel Mishuk. The hotel’s security measures were woefully inadequate. There was no proper monitoring or secure access to the premises, which left me feeling uneasy about the safety of my belongings and personal security. This is particularly alarming for solo travelers or families who prioritize safety when choosing accommodation.
The condition of the rooms was also disappointing. Most of the rooms, including the one I stayed in, were old and poorly maintained. The furniture was outdated and showed significant signs of wear and tear. The room had a musty smell, and the bathroom facilities were substandard, with leaking faucets and stained fixtures. It was evident that the hotel had not invested in proper maintenance or upgrades in a long time.
Interestingly, the only room that seemed to be in decent condition was room 325. However, this isolated exception did little to improve the overall experience. It’s a shame that such a large establishment has only one room that meets basic standards of comfort and cleanliness.
In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Mishuk was far from satisfactory. The substandard breakfast, unprofessional staff, inadequate security, and poorly maintained rooms made for a deeply unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and secure place to stay in Cox's Bazar. There are surely better options available that offer better value for money and a more...
Read moreHotel Mishuk was the textbook case of "not as advertised". I checked in early May, and was to leave towards the end. We were originally placed in a room in the fourth floor that received such horrible wifi we had to be relocated. This was on top of the issue that we were being bitten by ants in our beds. Our next room on the third floor was much better to the eye, but we quickly realized we were not alone here, as there were several cockroaches in the bathroom. The bathroom in itself was problematic in its inability to ever give warm water, and on the off-chance you did get warm water, it was scorching hot and you'd have to opt for cold. We still managed through all this even with the additional nuisance of continued wifi issues, being cut in and out, alongside electricity outages. One night however, whilst sleeping, I heard several noises coming from the bathroom. I woke up to what I assumed were mice or something of the sort, to then have our ceiling begin to gush out streams of water. We were relocated to another room which is where I write this review from in my state of utmost frustration. I do not recommend the Hotel Mishuk. The staff are lovely and genuinely try, but the infrastructure is not what it is advertised to be and that inconsistency will be the core flaw of...
Read moreI booked the hotel with Booking.com using my Credit Card. When my family went to the hotel at 8 am to check the reservation (check-in time is 1 pm), they said they only accept cash. My sister visited the room and did not like the hotel or the view. I talked with the manager and he said they don’t accept payment using booking.com. I told him that I would cancel the reservation and send my family to somewhere where they accept cards. The manager was forcing my family to stay in their hotel for at least one day and I got mad at him because it's not my fault that they don’t accept debit cards. In addition, I told him about their cancellation policy which clearly says that the booking can.be cancelled prior to the check-in time. I wanted to book a hotel for my family as a gift. And I felt so embarrassed not confirming with the property beforehand. My sister and her husband were forced to stay in their hotel. After 15-20 mins, the manager let them go. It was a horrible experience. If I were ever to book any hotel in Bangladesh, I would double check with the...
