Lunatree — Hotel in Mechelen

What an interesting B&B place, there are so many great things about our stay here, that is honestly difficult to describe, I will start by saying that the owner is a SUPER HOST! I have never experienced such an amazing complementary breakfast EVER, not even at a 5 stars hotel, I was amazed as I entered the kitchen such a beautiful and delicious spread of breakfast choices, egg cooked to perfection, not rubbery, crispy bacon, cantaloupe with prosciutto, preserves, fresh fruit, a variety of pastries, breads, teas and great coffee, the owner is such a friendly person and very accommodating, his place is gorgeous!! Great location, a GREAT...

Comfortable, originally decorated apartment consisting of two rooms and nice small terrace. Excellent breakfast. Good location nearby the beautiful old part of the town (and around 15 minutes walk to the rail station). For me it was an alternative to an Hotel in Brussels as Mechelen is excellently connected to the airport and teh part of Brussels where where I had my meeting.||||Bathroom (large!) is exclusive for the guest(s) but in the stairwell, 5 meters apart from the apartment. Not problemfor me, but perhaps it is...

Lunatree ligt aan het riviertje Melaan, dicht tegen het centrum van het heerlijke Mechelen aan, met uitzicht op de robuuste Romboutstoren en al het leuks van Mechelen op loopafstand. De B&B is gevestigd in een prachtig oud herenhuis, waar je op de 1e verdieping de beschikking krijgt over 2 kamers, een dakterrasje en eigen badkamer. Ideaal voor een gezin met 2 kinderen. Het huis ademt grandeur, met tegeltjes en glas in lood, en is door uitbater Serge smaakvol gedecoreerd, met links naar zijn cinematische verleden. Er staat een puike geluidsinstallatie, tv (die op het gewenste beeld krijgen vereist echter een graad in technologie) en honderden films (die je toch niet gaat kijken, daar is Mechelen veel te leuk voor). Het masterbed (een Tatami, las ik) slaapt heerlijk, is groot, met brede randen, dus stoten is onvermijdelijk. De badkamer, een paar treedjes lager, is eerder prachtig dan praktisch, met een centraal bad waar de wankelvoetigen onder ons moeite mee zullen hebben. Host Serge zet 's ochtend een heerlijk ontbijt klaar in de keuken, dat naar wens kan worden aangepast, en kan je verder alles over de stad vertellen. We hebben genoten. (Noot: direct boeken is...
