I stayed at this wonderful B&B for four nights. I was assigned the Jacaranda Room on the main floor. Bermuda is one of the most expensive places in the world. Her nightly rate is very reasonable, especially when compared to hotels!||Service - ||Marlie is a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and wonderful host! I really enjoyed chatting with her after breakfast. She was so hospitable and flexible. Her warm personality and sense of humor made my stay a memorable one! Thank you, Marlie!||Room - ||My room was impeccably clean and had all the necessary amenities. There was an iron and ironing board, small wall mounted television, a walk-in shower with great water temperature and water pressure, a towel rack that dries the towels, sink, and closet with hangars. The wall unit AC worked very well. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. You have your own key for your room. I loved everything about my cozy room!||Information -||Marlie provides a homemade breakfast for $10 per day. You can pay by cash (US dollars or Bermuda dollars) or credit card. Fresh healthy choices were available. I loved breakfast every morning! Tea and coffee were available throughout the day. The grounds are lovely……relaxing and calm with a pool, buddha statue, nice areas to sit, and very tropical.||Location - ||The location is perfect! It is located down a quiet, dead-end, very tropical street in Pembroke Parish, just a 10 minute walk to downtown Hamilton and Hamilton Harbour. You have to be very careful on the walk because there are no sidewalks, the road is narrow with sharp curves, and many cars are electric so you don’t hear them until they are close to you. I had no problems, and it is an easy walk right into the center of the city!||I LOVED my stay at Marlie’s B&B! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone...
Read morePros: Close to Hamilton, clean enough, affordable for Bermuda|Cons: Invasive host||I really would have liked to leave a more positive review, but I had a bad experience with the host. More on that later. Bermuda is a beautiful island and I had a very nice time. The town of Hamilton especially is picturesque and has good shopping. Also enjoyed the ferry to the navy dockyard. Marley’s place is essentially a single-family house where different bedrooms are rooms. Don’t expect luxury by any means. I had a bunch of bugs (which I understand it’s an island), a few stray hairs (also get as it’s not a luxury hotel). My issue came when it was time to checkout, Marley had not informed me that checkout was exactly at 10am. Apparently, not a minute later. I arrived at 10:15 to find all of my stuff moved. She put my dirty laundry in my suitcase, packed my electronics, moved my toiletries, etc. This was a rather unpleasant surprise. She had mentioned nothing about the deadline prior, and sent me a message at 10am asking where I was. I immediately responded that I was on my way back. I understand that technically checkout was a few minutes earlier, but this feels extremely unreasonable and inappropriate. A little flexibility and communication would have gone a long way. I get that I was technically late, but the way she dealt with it was unprofessional and out of line. Because of that, I can’t recommend...
