Shocking and Inhumane – A Humiliating Experience

I have never experienced anything so outrageous and cruel in a so-called “hospitality” establishment. On a Sunday morning, I arrived at this restaurant for a simple brunch with my friend. My 9-year-old daughter joined me unexpectedly after her playdate was canceled. My friend was already seated on the terrace, enjoying her meal, and we simply sat down to join her.

What happened next was beyond belief. A waiter immediately approached us and coldly informed me that my daughter and I were not allowed to dine there because children were not welcome in this hotel. He told us we had to leave, right then and there. My daughter, confused and humiliated, burst into tears. I was in complete shock.

Desperate to salvage the situation, we asked if we could move to the lounge area outside, where small tables were available. But no, apparently, even that was unacceptable. The waiter, almost smugly, explained that this was a newly enforced policy, as if that somehow justified the absolute lack of basic human decency.

I cannot stress enough how appalling this experience was. A policy that actively excludes children, not just from staying at the hotel but even from sitting quietly at a breakfast table, is beyond discriminatory! It is heartless. In any civilized country, such an approach would be condemned. A Sunday morning breakfast in a public hotel restaurant should not be a scene of humiliation and rejection.

If you have a family, or simply a shred of compassion, I urge you to avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of wonderful establishments that truly understand the meaning of hospitality - this is not...

Regrettably, my visit to this restaurant resulted in one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've encountered, both locally in Bermuda and internationally. Despite the anticipation of a pleasant meal, the service fell significantly short of expectations.

One of the primary issues was the unrequested addition of top-shelf spirits to our cocktails, a practice that not only inflated our bill unexpectedly but also deviated from our original orders without prior consent. This practice, which could be perceived as misleading, was compounded by the restaurant's refusal to adjust the service charge in light of the poor service received.

Efforts to address these concerns with the staff were met with an unexpectedly confrontational stance. Rather than engaging in a constructive dialogue to resolve the matter, I was informed that any further inquiries would result in the authorities being contacted. This response was not only disproportionate but also detracted significantly from the dining experience, leaving a lasting impression of hostility rather than hospitality.

I had hoped for a resolution that acknowledged and rectified the service shortcomings. Unfortunately, the encounter was marked by a lack of understanding and flexibility, elements crucial to customer service and satisfaction.

In light of these experiences, I cannot recommend this establishment. Potential patrons should be wary of the possibility of unexpected charges and a less-than-welcoming response to legitimate service inquiries. It's disheartening to relay such a negative experience, but I believe in the importance of informed choices when it comes...

Bermuda Huckleberry is the perfect spot for a laid-back brunch with a cool, relaxed vibe. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere pulls you in with its cozy yet modern décor. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it easy to settle in and enjoy your meal. I ordered the eggs panceta omelet, and it did not disappoint. The omelet was perfectly fluffy, with the panceta adding a delicious, salty crunch that balanced the dish beautifully. The flavors were rich but not overwhelming, making for a satisfying and comforting brunch option.

The restaurant is a great blend of casual yet trendy, with a playlist that sets the perfect mood—think chill beats, perfect for a lazy morning or catching up with friends. Whether you’re sitting inside or on the patio, you can feel the easy-going energy that makes it a great place to relax. Overall, Bermuda Huckleberry offers not just great food but a whole experience that makes you want to stay a little longer. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time, enjoy your meal, and soak up the good vibes. Definitely a spot worth...

Our best meal in Bermuda! We loved the atmosphere on the front porch, sitting in the garden with a fresh sea breeze keeping is cool. We started with the pork belly paired with a glass of the Soave. The pork was tender enough to cut with a fork and the sauce was delicious. From there my wife ordered the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin (a special) that came with ricotta gnochi. It was excellent! I ordered the lamb and it was the best lamb I've ever had. The butternut squash ravioli complimented the savoryness of the lamb perfectly. Dessert was wonderful as well! I had the cobbler and my wife had the bread pudding. Both were hot and a great balance of sweet and savory. I highly recommend for a romantic dinner.

We had an early dinner at Huckleberry's celebrating a birthday. The place was empty, and the service was prompt and efficient. Not raced. The Huckleberry salad was a good starter, although you should be aware with Kale, nuts and Cabbage it might be a bit much for some. We both had the seared Bermuda Rockfish which was fantastic. It melted in your mouth cooked to perfection. For dessert the cheesecake was very tasty although the Cake DuJour was a bit dry. All in all a great evening. I will definitely return. Hats off to Homer and his team. Very personable and provided great service.
