We stayed there due to Taylor Swift's concert; it was our first time in Rio and wanted to get to know as many places as we could in a week.

First of all, the staff was very friendly at all times; João helped us at the check in (we didn't speak portugese and he did speak english) and he was extremely efficient, friendly, and kind. He cleared up doubts and provided us with two keys to the room as requested.

Even though the rooms at the budget hotel (the blue Ibis) are very small, they were enought to have a good, peaceful, and quiet night of sleep; take either a relaxing hot shower or a refreshing cold one, and charge our electronic devices to be ready to go to a new and exciting destination.

The hotel made us feel very well located as it is right next to the giant Nova America mall, it was also just a couple of minutes in uber away to pretty much ANYTHING there is to see in Rio (Stadiums, museums, Christ the Redeemer, the Acqua Rio aquarium, etc.).

Our rate included free belreakfast and it was enjoyable, they served it from 6am and the buffet closed at 11:15am which felt perfect for either getting it before hitting a new attraction early in the morning, or getting to eat even if you slept in after a late night out.

Claudia was great with housekeeping and made it feel like a new check-in everyday.

Stayed here during the 2016 Paralympic Games and was very impressed with the hotel. All the staff were efficient and keen to help. Quite a few of them spoke English too. The rooms are small but extremely comfortable and secure. The bed was made up every day and changed at least twice a week during my three week stay plus the shower was always hot and worked really well. Wifi was free and there are free internet computers in the reception and you can also use the ones in the adjoining Ibis hotel.
