Olinda Rio Hotel — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

My three night stay at Olinda hotel in March 2023 was perfect.

The location in the middle of Copacabana Beach is top. And all personnel made me feel like a special guest—just as the reviews I read indicated.

The hotel probably took advantage of COVID shutdowns to refurbish. My room and all common areas seemed newly painted and renewed. Everything functioned: Wi-Fi, fridge, shower, USB outlets, a/c.

That said, one has to remember that the hotel was built in 1949. One can enjoy—as I did—the glow from a past era in Brazilian history—marble and dark wood furnishings— and personnel who do everything possible to keep tradition alive. But one should not expect technical innovations and design of today. There are many other hotels—and much more expensive—on the Copacabana for that.

Other visitors were from Brazil and South America. Few Europeans or Americans. All were pleasant and greeted one another.

I’ve Travel many times to Rio de Janeiro and recently traveled again during the World Cup !||||Like always I stayed at the Olinda Hotel located right in front of Copacabana beach on Ave Atlantica.||||I returned to The Olinda because of its classic hotel decor and its Centrally located near post 3 where many of the best restaurants in Copacabana can be found in the area .||||Now the important factor the staff and front desk Managers are spectacular helpful and professional.||||My trips to Rio de Janeiro have always been easy and safe because of Marcelo, Marco and Fabricio being attentive and helpful at the Front desk .||||I must also make the point that the restaurant and housekeeping are at a 5 star Hotel level.||||So leaving the best for last the view of the beach is breathtaking and keeps me coming back .||||Thank you Olinda Staff for always showing me the best of...

I was in Rio for business for 1 night, reception staff were very friendly and gave me an up graded room with a sea view and balcony, I arrived at 10am in the morning and was able to check into my room at this time at no extra cost.||||I left 2 pieces of luggage in the left luggage room as my flight wasn’t until late at night. One of the pieces was broken into, one of the zippers had been forced open and the security code no longer works.||||Luckily I had taken my laptop with me and had nothing of value in there. ||||I spoke to the reception and he told me that the manager had already gone home, but only hotel staff had access to the room and that there was a camera by the door.||||I wouldn’t advise anybody to leave their luggage in the left...
