Gran Estanplaza Bernini sits along Rua Arizona where the big-chain hotels like Hilton and Sheraton also sit. The location is good since it's not inside the city so city rush hour is not an issue. However, there's very little to see if you decide to walk; if you're the type who would like to walk to nearby restaurants, supermarkets and other tourist places, you would be better off looking for accommodation along Paulista Avenue. ||The lobby isn't large but still very impressive, with old world elegance and charm. The same is true, even much more so, for their breakfast dining location, a very large, very bright hall with 100% skylights, iron grille staircases, and table spread out far from each other. The same theme is carried over to the bedroom with narrow but serviceable balconies.||There's a large TV, though we couldn't find any English news program - everything seemed to be in Portuguese! There's a nice desk with soft functional ergo chair, a clear-door ref, a safe, and lamps on the four sides of the room. ||Service in the breakfast hall was great - Tiago kept pouring us coffee, Leonardo was a marvelous pianist, and according to my wife, the food choice was excellent. The bell service was excellent too. ||What could be improved? We wished there was an electrical outlet near the desk; we had to stretch our cable taut to make it to the wall socket. We wished there were face towels - they only had bath and hand towels. There was no body wash in the toilet kit. Also, housekeeping left only one hand towel on the second day. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, sehr viel Personal bietet viel Service. ||||Das Hotel selber ist aber eher renovierungsbedürftig. ||||Die Armaturen im Badezimmer waren auch schon sehr mit abgesplitterter Legierung. Die Badewanne ist aus Plastik, die Fenster sind sehr schlecht isoliert und halt nur mäßig Straßenlärm ab – hier empfehle ich die Seite ohne Bahn (nach hinten raus). Die Straße hört man nachts immer. Zu Lärm gesellt sich auch schon mal ein irgendwo laufender Wäschetrockner mit ausgeschlagenem Kugellager. Das kann auch schon mal um 6:30 Uhr morgens sein. ||||Die Lampen des Zimmers und die Klimaanlage wird über abgegriffene Tasten des Telefons ein- und ausgeschaltet. Wenn die Lobby anruft klingelt nicht das Telefon neben dem Bett mit den Schaltern, sondern das Telefon auf dem Klo. ||||Das Frühstück ist recht umfangreich, es gibt immer sehr viel frisches Obst - das habe ich gemocht, ich habe aber ganz simpel einen Kaffee-Vollautomaten vermisst der eigentlich Standard in der Klasse sein sollte. Filterkaffee am morgen war zwar ok. Bei meinem langen Aufenthalt hätte ich mir aber gerne etwas Abwechslung gewünscht. ||||Beim Rühreitopf hatte ich mal probiert, da waren aber sehr viele Eierschalen mit drin. Das hätte ich bei einem "Gran" Hotel auch nicht unbedingt erwartet.||||Beim Frühstück spielt werktags auch ein Pianospieler. Die Begleitung von CD Musik macht das leider etwas stillos. Ich denke entweder leise Musik oder nur Piano würde dem ganzen etwas mehr Klasse geben.||||Der Service war immer sehr bemüht, Englische Kommunikation ist aber je nach Mitarbeiter sehr holprig.||||Was neben dem Lärm extrem störend war: Die Schlüsselkarte, die auch im Aufzug benötigt wird, habe ich innerhalb 2 Wochen Aufenthalt sicher 10 mal wechseln müssen, weil sie nicht mehr funktioniert hatte.||||Den Geldautomaten im Hotel wollte ich auch nutzen, der war aber defekt.||||Falls ich nochmal dahin muss würde ich eher das Hilton trotz höheren...

While there's many pros that I don't want to overlook and I recognize the amazing people that work here, the cons are very inconvient when you're traveling for business.
