The hotel is really close to the WTC, so if that's where you need to be, it's in a good location. It has a warm shower with a high water pressure if you prefer, which I have found to be rare in Brazil. The room was spacious enough. Unfortunately, that's where my positive experiences stop. Most staff members don't speak English, the people at the desk speak only a few words. I don't understand why the hostel doesn't improve it's staff's level of English, because now it is very difficult to communicate with them if you don't speak Portuguese. It's a business hotel after all, they must have guests from all over the world. There was an issue with our booking, but we weren't able to communicate about it with the staff, so we ended up spending more.|The hotel claims to have a business center, however this consists of a single computer which is uncomfortably located behind the desk in the hallway. It took me 10 minutes to start chrome, the computer had no Word despite the staff telling me so, and I had to pay 15 reais for using it one hour. |The next day, I managed to borrow a laptop from a colleague of my partner, who was also staying in the hotel. I hadn't brought one myself since I thought I wouldn't need it during my stay. However, I could not access the internet on the laptop (the colleague had had no internet problems himself). The hotel staff tried fixing the problem but did not succeed, which caused me to spend the whole day trying to connect to internet while I had to do work. I was extremely frustrated with the fact that this is a business hotel with a 'business center' but they don't offer a good work space, accessible wi-fi or staff that speaks English well enough to communicate beyond a simple check-in procedure. |The hotel has an indoor swimming pool on the top floor, which offers a nice skyline view, but is basically a giant tub filled with chlorine water. Two strokes and you're at the other side...

Read moreThe hotel itself is located up a grubby side street, which in the evening had hookers near the bottom! The outside of the hotel has a reasonable appearance, and the lobby looks average. The staff were wonderful, very helpful indeed. However, the place goes downhill fast after this. The rooms are in need of refurbishment, old fashioned, look dated. The internet was awful, couldn't stream movies for example and had continuous problems logging on. The food in the bar downstairs was poor quality. The restaurant, Marcello's, was closed but was supposed to be good quality. It is winter here right now, but 22 degrees, but the rooms were cold, they had no heaters and blankets were not in stock. Generally, I would avoid this place, the Sheraton looks a much better option. There is little to do in this district and it's a £10 taxi ride to Paulista Avenue. The hotels saving grace was a high grade shopping centre next door to the World Trade Centre, which had a great food court, plenty of choice for meals. Outside of this, everything...
