We stayed 12 nights and our experience wasn't pleasant. We had problems since we checked in, since they couldn't find our reservation because it was reserved with Banstur(a travel plan). We could clearly see a difference of treatment with the guests that reserved with a travel plan and the other guests.
The room wasn't well maintained. The bathroom door wasn't closing properly, the bed was very uncomfortable and very hard. We asked to change rooms but they told us that all beds in the hotel were the same, which was a complete lie since the new room we moved to, the bed was much better and clearly different.
Also had a problem with our room card that got demagnetized and when we went to the front desk to ask for a new one, all we had to say was our room number. For our surprise they didn't ask for any kind of ID and even said our names, which I confirmed. So basically anyone could have access to any room. We found that very strange, since for breakfast you have to say nor only the room number, but also the name of all people that are staying there. Speaking on the breakfast, I had the unpleasant luck to get a used dirty spoon that was mixed with the clean ones. It had a red lipstick stain on it (that I clearly wasn't wearing it) and unfortunately I only noticed after I used it.
The worse thing happened was at one night, when we woke up at 4 am with some crazy guy yelling and slamming the doors on the hallway. We called front desk and they were extremely rude saying they already knew and they were sending security. When security got there they didn't stop the guy from anything, and he was hitting on the doors, screaming very loud and trying to enter the rooms, including ours. Only the police managed to get him out, the hotel security didn't stop him from anything. We had no idea if it was someone dangerous, if it was a hotel guest or even someone from outside. That was very scary and the hotel didn't do anything to compensate this.
The location is very good, but it's not worth dealing...
Read moreStayed there for one night for an early flight. I was trying to avoid the hotels in GRU area and try something better and not too expensive but due to the terrible traffic in Sao Paulo we couldn't choose anything far from the airport. Well, I wish I had stayed near GRU... This Novotel is close to a mall (Center Norte) but unless you are required to go there, I would say this is not the best location. You don't wanna walk in the surroundings. Parking in the hotel requires you to go to the checkin counter inside and return to inform them your room (simple, not far but the first impression they give you is that the service is on your side, not theirs... It needs integration or someone from them, not you - to ask. Actually, a simple radio would fix this, and its better than asking your guest). The check in process was simple but even if you have a reservation under their site and you already provided your loyalty number, they will ask you address and confirm some data (again, no integration, even with their loyalty system). Exploring the hotel, we found the gym to be okay through the glass walls but it was locked. Have no idea why since it was 3 pm and it was supposed to be open until 10 pm. Pool also seems ok but too small if you intend to swim. Room is outdated. Towels are minimum in the room. They are overused and harsh. My rate included the breakfast. We went down by 6:15 but they only starts serving by 6:30 and I had to leave early for a flight. When I asked if could just serve myself some juice, they denied. The alternative option was a ridiculously cold cheese bread and coffee, an offer called the early breakfast... Even Ibis (to relate to a hotel of the same brand) can do better. No, I wouldn't stay here again and I don't recommend this hotel. Actually, I travel a lot and had already been in several others same branded hotels and I think this one is not on par...
Read moreI am here on Business and was booked into the hotel by the Convention organizers and the hotel is very close to the Expo center - so it was convenient for my business trip. From the minute I checked into the hotel the front desk personnel were fabulous. Particularly, ANDERSON has been so helpful and considerate and really made me feel welcome. And GONZALO helped me with the internet connection and was also helpful. When I originally looked at some of the reviews I was concerned because some were not good at all. However, I am giving this hotel 5 stars. ||THe buffet breakfast has a very nice assortment of fruits, cheeses, cereals, breads, rolls, muffins, juices etc. The bedroom is spacious and clean.||I cannot say enough GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS HOTEL! OBRIGADA to ANDERSON, GONZALO and ALL THE PERSONNEL! Also PAULO helped me with breakfast today.||Bathroom is lovely and the SHOWER is fantastic - lovely hot hot water and good pressure.||I Recommend this hotel if you have to go to the Convention Center - I wish I could give...
