Guest House Fun and Rest — Hotel in Plovdiv

We picked this place for our stay in Plovdiv mainly for its location, which is on the central square adjacent to the town hall (not that historic Plovdiv is that huge). As the room was located on the back of the building, the view isn't nice, but on the plus side you can enjoy a good night of sleep, which in my opinion is worth gold during holidays. The room itself is pretty basic while the bathroom was quite new but both were tidy. The shower is an 'open' one so the bathroom becomes mostly wet when showering. Fortunately it dries pretty fast thanks to the ventilation. ||Prices are ok, even though breakfast is not included (there's a Costa coffee bar 10m from the entrance as well as lots of other places nearby, so it's not a big deal). ||The owners are a young couple who are really nice.||One minor point: you might have some trouble finding the entrance. It's a small corridor on the main square and then a door on the right and at the time of our stay we did not find any sign with the name of the place (admitted, there were some constructions going on).||Definitely worth a recommendation for people who don't need luxurious...

The location is in the very center of Plovdiv, near the town hall. It is located in an old, dilapidated building. You have to climb a wooden staircase to the upper floor. The entrance is neglected, dirty, and under renovation.

Yes, there is a shared "hallway" for all rooms with a refrigerator, coffee maker, and kettle.

But the rooms themselves are like the cheapest, poorly maintained hostel. Not clean. Broken (ripped out) sockets. The bed linens do not fit the size of the bed.

The most inappropriate thing is the hosts. The host allows himself to shout at his wife in front of guests. He stands and watches as the hostess (his wife) carries the guests' suitcases up the stairs.

Moreover, the host openly mocks guests, for example, regarding their country of origin.

It is quite obvious that he is not interested in his business or reputation.

The hostess tries to soften the impression of his behavior but lies too much and too blatantly.

avevamo scelto la Guest House Fun and Rest di Plovdiv attratte dalla posizione centrale e dal balcone che affaccia sulla piazza... dalle recensioni lette la struttura sembrava pulita, ma non era così!||ci saremmo comunque adattate senza lamentarci alla scomodità del materasso spesso pochi centimetri, agli insettini sui muri e sui mobili e al bagno minuscolo che si allaga utilizzando la doccia a filo pavimento, alla polvere ovunque e alle lenzuola sdrucite, alla puzza di fogna che si sente già sulle sporchissime scale pericolanti in legno e al fatto che in camera ci fosse solo una finestrella ... per le bellezze di Plovdiv si può resistere una notte così!||ma la porta a vetri da cui si entra nella stanza impedisce il riposo e la privacy: affaccia su un ingresso/sala comune, di passaggio per il bagno comune delle altre due stanze, in cui c'è una telecamera che riprende gli ospiti 24 ore su 24, con la luce che deve rimanere sempre accesa e con la porta di ingresso che deve rimanere sempre aperta per volere dei proprietari che abitano proprio accanto!||dopo mezzanotte, stanche per l'impossibilità di dormire con la luce sempre accesa e i rumori provenienti dalle scale e dalla casa dei gestori, abbiamo telefonato per ||di spegnere e chiudere, per permetterci qualche ora di riposo...||a tale richiesta i proprietari si sono messi ad urlare fuori dalla porta della nostra camera minacciosamente, abbiamo dovuto insistere dicendo che avremmo chiamato la polizia per farli smettere.||l'indomani mattina presto hanno bussato insistentemente ricominciando ad aggredirci verbalmente perché volevano parlare per evitare che facessimo una recensione negativa, urlando: "un piccolo problema può diventare un grande problema rovinandoci il punteggio!!"||siamo uscite dalla camera, rassicurandoli sul fatto che non ci interessava recensirli, e abbiamo chiesto di lasciarci andare a visitare la città, saremmo tornate a prendere i bagagli alle 12, ora del check out, ma ce lo hanno impedito! hanno continuato a insistere sbarrandoci il passaggio verso le scale! ||siamo scappate terrorizzate di corsa con i bagagli già alle 9, perché i due proprietari erano sempre più minacciosi, poco dopo hanno persino dichiarato al portale su cui avevamo prenotato che non abbiamo soggiornato (no-show) per evitare la nostra recensione negativa.||probabilmente avrebbero voluto anche guadagnarci il doppio incassando il rimborso del no-show, fortunatamente avevamo pagato con carta di credito all'arrivo e non in contanti come avevano chiesto con molta insistenza!||abbiamo segnalato i fatti poco dopo all'ufficio del turismo di Plovdiv, in cui non è registrata una struttura di accoglienza con il nome Guest House Fun and Rest, dunque ufficialmente questa Guest House non esiste!||non fatevi rovinare la vacanza da host aggressivi che vi spiano 24 ore su 24 con la telecamera... scegliete un altro posto in cui dormire nella...
