Puldin COOP — Hotel in Plovdiv

The staff was absolutely hands down the rudest people of my life. I went on a school trip with my class and the teachers said to be quiet, so we were. Then the teachers come shocked that the staff had threatened to CALL THE POLICE ON US AND CALL SECURITY. The lady at the reception desk was not fluently bulgarian and didn’t even speak the language. The girl at the restaurant (she is 16 yrs old) had the audacity to threaten us, when the teachers should be doing that and they did (we didn’t do anything wrong). The staff made comments about us when we were right in front of them. The shower curtain in the room doesn’t prevent water from getting anywhere - theres a huge pool in front of our sink. Also, the windows look like they’ve not been cleaned since the opening of the hotel and they don’t close properly - i think im sick, because cold air was coming in our room. The walls had mysterious stains… The breakfast was ok, but there wasn’t any drinks (just water from a dispenser) and not enough. There was a hair in my soup....

Our room was a decent size, pretty quiet, well-cooled, and comfortable. The beds were not too hard or too soft and there's a duvet you can assemble or just use the cover as a sheet.||The front desk staff were minimally helpful but ok. They had a difficult time with English but we got by. ||The breakfast kinda sucked but there was meat. There was also French toast, cheeses, cucumber. bread with a toaster beside, cereal - the typical breakfast fare but not a lot of variety. ||The orange juice sucked; it was warm and tasted like aspartame or sucralose. ||The location is good though, just a short walk to the pedestrian shopping area. There is also a nearby supermarket that has most of the necessities: bread, beer, fruit, light bulbs, chocolate, and cheese etc.||Public transit is available very close by and you can walk to the...

I have NO idea how this place manages a score of 4.2 on Google reviews and 3.5 on Tripadvisor. ||This has all the appearance of an old Soviet style place. And all the warmth and welcome that goes with that.||Breakfast was the crowning glory in an overall poor experience. Overseen by a gentleman who made no effort to assist guests, all instructions / information in Bulgarian only (except the numerous rules!), hot food all stone cold.||Rooms very basic with ‘make yourself’ bedding.
