Keo Mony Guesthouse — Hotel in Battambang

When I came to look at a room, I was told a fan room for 1 was $5 and shown one on the bottom floor. It had a mini refrig, was over-sized, but the windows were high up on the ceiling and small. I was told the rooms upstairs had normal windows. When I checked in, I asked to see one of the upstairs rooms. Because housekeeping was still working, I got to see various rooms. The walls in all of them were in various phases of dirtiness and there were no refrigs though they did have closets. When I returned to the front desk, I saw 2 display cases of condoms. I asked if this was a sex hotel. She told me that the gov't requires that hotels carry them.||||Know that if you stay here, you'll be woken up between 6-6:45am by room doors shutting which sound like jail cell doors. No joke. Also, the bathrooms leave a bit to be desired - toilet seats unattached to the toilet, dirty toiletry holder, and no tp (she only supplies a box those napkins street cafes use). I had to ask for my sheet to be changed as the bed hadn't been even though she thought the room had been cleaned. For a hotel on the outskirts of downtown, there are a lot of locals who stay here, making me believe it is a sex hotel. The only redeeming quality about it is the 2nd floor and above have some nice views...

I'd say I had a good time @room406 because I slept through the noise below and the firecrackers on New Year's eve. I used the blanket as my bedsheet and cover as well. It was chilly so I didn't use the creaking fan nor did I watch the B/W T.V. The bed has two pillows and a hotdog pillow but looks dirty white inside through the covers. \m/ Check the other rooms on the first and 2nd because that's where it's usually maintained.||||It's just 2 miles walk away from the market and the museum. ||||There's no tissue paper so you have to bring your own. At 5USD, there's no fridge, no English speaking receptionist but there's wi-fi which locates your next...

We had are good time at Keo Mony. Very close to the centrum of town but still quiet. The hot shower dosent work but the room was big and clean for that price. Not the most smiling people on the earth. Are good place to stay for on budget...
