White Rose Restaurant — Restaurant in Battambang

Would not return. The Thai milk tea very lovely I will say that, hence the 2 stars for food. We got spring rolls for starter and we received this weird noodle dish with a spring roll chopped up on the side. Very odd. The spring roll wrapping smelt off as well with a sour, cheesey smell, it was not good. The poor was cold in it and it was just very unpleasant. The steak was alright, it was a very thing steak cooked very unevenly but tasted pretty good. Came with about 5 french fries and rock hard vegetables. They also gave us sugar instead of salt so tipped that all over my steak and fries so it was sweet. I informed a staff member and they didn't seem to acknowledge. 2 minutes later two staff members came over but didn't specify what for so I was confused what was going on and then they just walked away. Getting a staff members attention was the hardest game I've ever had to play. You had staff members sitting down chatting, walking around eating and leaning against the railings only paying attention to the local customers rather than clear tourists. Took us nearly 15 minutes to ask for the bill... When they came back they brought us marked dollar bills and could tell them knew as it was two staff members looking at them and talking before just handing us them. I went up to them and said I can't accept this it is marked and they were like "yeah ok" and changed it for me. Staff really didn't seem like they wanted to be there and it SHOWED. Overall, very unpleasant and unwelcoming vibe from this place and some of the food was just not good, underwhelming and unsatisfactory.

Their standards have been very much improved. Compared to the last time I was here a few years ago, I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. But now, they've really put in lot of effort into touching up the quality of their food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The staff is also super friendly.

FOOD: The food is very friendly towards many dietary needs. It isn't too salty or sweet like most restaurants in the area. The soup in the noodle I ordered felt very clean (no bugs, no dirty vegetables like I found in other restaurants in the city). Also, the portion was very generous. It surprised me when I received my food.

RECOMMEND: Compared to what you'd typically get from restaurants along the streets here, this definitely earned it's 5 stars.

Update: Steer away from the Spring Rolls. Ordered some on Mar. 21, 2018 and... Unfortunately, the pork in it smelled very bad. Maybe leftover pork. I can't say for sure. 🤢 Maybe staff error but regardless...dropping it...

Overrated than it should be. -Foods:There were many options for food but as for the taste it's either below average or above average. -Environment: The atmosphere is not great if you want a place to hang out because it's more crowded than I thought it would be but at least the place is clean. -Services: The service is bad because the staffs ignored us unless we called out to them and the waiting time for our food were around 40 minutes. -Price: I don't recommend this place if you're limited on your budget because they are not cheap. Overall, the expensive price for not so good tasting foods and waiting time won't be worth it if you're looking to have a good time dining...
