This is my first review ever as I usually don't share my views in public but this place is so amazing that I have to tell you about my experience...been there yesterday for Power Lunch (BLT Sandwich with sweet potato crisps) & dinner (honey chicken with rice, soup and salad) and today breakfast (omelette, 2x homemade bread, fruit bowl, fried fish bits, scrambled tofu, yogurt, cereal, jam, rice porridge). All meals each 3 Dollars...this is so good value for money that we almost felt bad when we paid the bill! They should at least charge a dollar more and no one could complain! After all this is for a good cause - helping the orphans and giving them a job opportunity! Also really delicous coffee (had the Cappuccino and my husband cafe Americano). They use wooden cutlery, plates and bowls. No plastic anywhere. They get their products from their own organic farm. The restaurant itself is beautiful...nice music in the background, great pictures...We highly recommend this place and hope that they will be added to the Lonely Planet travel guide for Southeast Asia..they absolutley deserve the attention! Thank you for this great experience in Battambang - will be in my...
Read moreWhat an amazing cafe/restaurant! We came here as we heard about some NGO cafes in Battambang where having a drink or snack does something good at the same time. At the Hope of Children cafe we were blown away by the diverse menu (everything available in English) and even more by the quality of the food. The dishes are a combination of local and japanese cuisine and the breakfast is as fresh as it can be with homemade bread, yoghurt, marmalade and a big bowl of fresh fruit as well as egg of your choice (plus local meat/fish additions if you like).
The service and food alone deserve 5/5 stars but here you even support children in need who can develop their skills at the restaurant. Your money supports the main facilities of the organization, too. For all of this, the price is more than reasonable. If we ever come back to Battambang this will be...
Read moreWanted to try some Japanese food and decided to check this place out due to the good reviews. Tuk Tuk driver was able to find the location easily, koi fish in little ponds greet you at the entrance. Lots of Japanese motifs and decorations 👍. I ordered the pork tonkatsu, the meal came with a side of sliced cabbage and miso soup and dipping sauce. The meal was very good including the sides. For drinks I ordered the mango smoothie which was very fresh. When we arrived at the restaurant there were lots of people. Due to this the service was a little slow. The waiters were very attentive and quick with requests. The food took a while to come out due to the volume of customers. Would definitely come back and try the chicken katsu which...
