Started with bad checking in as at 14pm the room wasn’t ready and we were told we would have to wait about an hour. The staff were very nice and even offered us a free massage but after a 24 hour journey all we wanted was a shower and change of clothes. We were asked to pay for the whole of our stay as soon as we arrived, something that has never happened before in Cambodia and was not necessary as they had the details of my Visa. The room was so small that with all our luggage (we are travelling for over 4 months and had second hand clothes for Cambodian children) we could hardly move and kept banging out feet and shins on the beds. Breakfast was not included in our room price so we had to pay each morning before going to the restaurant. We were never given a receipt for this and on the third day at reception they told us we hadn’t paid the day before, on insisting we had they checked again and confirmed, but when we went for breakfast we gave our room number and the staff said we hadn’t paid. Seeing that made me angry they checked with reception and apologised. But the worst thing about the breakfast experience was the first morning. When we arrived, and we were not late, nearly all the hot plates were reduced to scraps. When I asked the very young boy if they would be filling them up he told me “you eat what’s here and we will put some more” cold scraps for $7! I preferred not to have any. There were no glasses for juice and no coffee and on politely asking the same young man if we could have some the answer was “they’re coming” and he proceeded to go into the kitchen standing watching me until I gave up then he bought some out. I have been travelling in Cambodia for ten years and never encountered such rude staff, the rest were very polite. In other reviews people spoke about it being great because of the bars and clubs in Baasac street but in our room it was like having a disco in the room until around 2.30am. Sorry, I for one will not be back and have already cancelled our booking for our...
Read moreHorrible horrible horrible experience with this hotel. Started off with not being able to get into our room and the receptionist couldn't figure out how to open so our room was changed. Then whenever we would have a shower the drain was clogged so the water would flood the entire bathroom. We tried phoning the front desk and explained what was happening and they said they would check it out while we were out. We came back to find they didn't do a single thing and they said that nothing was wrong and that's normal. Clearly they did not understand. Then catastrophe happened and everyone in the hotel found out that none of the water worked, no shower, no tap, no toilets. The water pump had broken and they were trying to figure out what was wrong. The pump broke at 6:30pm on the 15th and they didn't finally fix it until 4 or 5pm the next day! For the whole night and day everyone was asking when the water was coming back on but all we got was "Oh just another 10 minutes oh just 45 minutes". Nobody seemed to know anything. We ended up going to bed sticky, smelly and furious. And to top it off they suggested we go wash in the pool. All of the guests ended up having to share 2 disgusting toilets and a shower with only cold water on the bottom floor. Absolutely no compensation was given to any of the guests and no management helped in any kind of way. It seemed the employees were thrown in the line of fire and were scrambling around. The only nice things I can say about this place is the staff is friendly and the location is right beside all the party bars and restaurants, which can be a downside if you're not into that because it can be loud at night depending where your room is located. I absolutely cannot recommend this place to anyone, and if we are ever in Phnom Penh we will not...
Read moreI'm not in the hotel but it has a lot to be desired after reading and ember good reviews i thought I'd give it a try and was very disappointed. There is no ramp for disable table to enter there at stay is waiting up to the infants and no staff to assist you with your luggage. The rooms are ok, i have very comfortable beds but that's about it. They didn't provide the booking requested and then led to me saying that there were no other rooms available, but in the route arises to taint by had saved the rooms i had booked for Chinese. I had a number of problems with my room and complained and then was moved to guess what the room that i had booked which they added previously lied to me inside was not available. There is not much room in the rooms, they are very compact. The bathrooms are small and there is no hot water in the hand basin or the shower. After running the hot water first 10 to 12 minutes hi guys up and got in and had a cold shower and the temperature in never warmed up no matter how you tried to adjust the taps. There is a busy line full of restaurants and there are shops nearby but this can also be a little bit on the noisy side. The housekeeping is poor & well below standard . The toilet was disgusting with human feces around the seat hinges. The swimming pool , if you could call it that comma is extremely small and impossible to swim in, and with only 3 three seater sofas on the rooftop, there's barely a chance of you getting somewhere to sit around the pool. Apart from comfortable beds it's not really much of a hotel and there are too many five better...
